Revelation 1:10-20

10I was 1 2in the Spirit on 3the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice 4like the sound of a trumpet, 11saying, “5Write in a 6book what you see, and send it to the 7seven churches: to 8Ephesus and to 9Smyrna and to 10Pergamum and to 11Thyatira and to 12Sardis and to 13Philadelphia and to 14Laodicea.”

12Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned I saw 15seven golden lampstands; 13and 16in the middle of the lampstands I saw one 17like 18a son of man, 19clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and 20girded across His chest with a golden sash. 14His head and His 21hair were white like white wool, like snow; and 22His eyes were like a flame of fire. 15His 23feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His 24voice was like the sound of many waters. 16In His right hand He held 25seven stars, and out of His mouth came a 26sharp two-edged sword; and His 27face was like 28the sun 29shining in its strength.

17When I saw Him, I 30fell at His feet like a dead man. And He 31placed His right hand on me, saying, “32Do not be afraid; 33I am the first and the last, 18and the 34living One; and I 35 36was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have 37the keys of death and of Hades. 19Therefore 38write 39the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place 40after these things. 20As for the 41mystery of the 42seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the 43seven golden lampstands: the 44seven stars are the angels of 45the seven churches, and the seven 46lampstands are the seven churches.
