Revelation 16

The Bowls of Wrath

1Then I heard a loud voice from 1the 2temple, saying to the 3seven angels, “Go and 4pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”

2So the first angel went and poured out his bowl 5on the earth; and a harmful and painful 6sore 7afflicted the people 8who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.

3The second angel poured out his bowl 9into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living 10thing in the sea died.

4Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the 11rivers and the springs of waters; and they 12became blood. 5And I heard the angel of the waters saying, “13Righteous are You, 14the One who is and who was, O 15Holy One, because You 16judged these things; 6for they poured out 17the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them 18blood to drink. They 19deserve it.” 7And I heard 20the altar saying, “Yes, 21Lord God, the Almighty, 22true and righteous are Your judgments.”

8And the fourth angel poured out his bowl upon 23the sun, 24and it was given power to scorch people with fire. 9And the people were scorched with 25fierce heat; and they 26blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they 27did not repent so as to 28give Him glory.

10And the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the 29throne of the beast, and his kingdom became 30darkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain, 11and they 31blasphemed the 32God of heaven because of their pain and their 33sores; and they 34did not repent of their deeds.

12The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the 35great river, the Euphrates; and 36its water was dried up, so that 37the way would be prepared for the kings 38from the 39east.

Har-Magedon (Armageddon)

13And I saw coming out of the mouth of the 40dragon, and out of the mouth of the 41beast, and out of the mouth of the 42false prophet, three 43unclean spirits like 44frogs; 14for they are 45spirits of demons, 46performing signs, which go out to the kings of the 47entire 48world, to 49gather them together for the war of the 50great day of God, the Almighty. 15(“Behold, 51I am coming like a thief. 52Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, 53so that he will not walk about naked and people will not see his shame.”) 16And they 54gathered them together to the place which 55in Hebrew is called 56Har-Magedon.

The Seventh Bowl of Wrath

17Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl upon 57the air, and a 58loud voice came out of the 5960temple from the throne, saying, “61It is done.” 18And there were flashes of 62lightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was 63a great earthquake, 64such as there had not been since mankind came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty. 1965The great city 66was split into three parts, and the cities of the 67nations fell. 68Babylon the great was 69remembered in the sight of God, to give her 70the cup of the wine of 71His fierce wrath. 20And 72every island fled, and no mountains were found. 21And 73huge 74hailstones, weighing about 75a talent each, came down from heaven upon people; and people 76blasphemed God because of the 77plague of the hail, because 78the hailstone plague was extremely 79severe.
