Leviticus 1:3-9
3If his offering is a 1burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male 2without defect; he shall offer it 3at the doorway of the tent of meeting, so that he may be accepted before the Lord. 4And 4he shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, so that it may be accepted for him to make 5atonement on his behalf. 5Then 6he shall 7slaughter the 8bull before the Lord; and Aaron’s sons the priests shall offer up 9the blood and 10sprinkle the blood around on the altar that is at the doorway of the tent of meeting. 611He shall then skin the burnt offering and cut it into its pieces. 7And 12the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire. 8Then Aaron’s sons the priests shall arrange the pieces, with the head and the 13suet, on the wood which is on the fire that is on the altar. 9Its 14entrails, however, and its legs he shall wash with water. And 15the priest shall offer all of it up in smoke on the altar as a burnt offering, an offering by fire as 16a soothing aroma to the Lord.
