Isaiah 5:20-24

20Woe to those who 1call evil good, and good evil; Who 23substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who 4substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!21Woe to those who are 5wise in their own eyes And 6clever in their own sight!227Woe to those who are heroes in drinking wine, And valiant men in mixing intoxicating drink,238Who declare the wicked innocent for a bribe, And 9take away the 10rights of the ones who are in the right!

24Therefore, 11as a tongue of fire consumes stubble, And dry grass collapses in the flame, So their 12root will become 13like rot, and their blossom 14blow away like dust; For they have 15rejected the Law of the Lord of armies, And discarded the word of the Holy One of Israel.
