Isaiah 47:6-10

6I was angry with My people, I profaned My heritage And handed them over to you. You did not show mercy to them, On the 1aged you made your yoke very heavy.7Yet you said, ‘I will be a 2queen forever.’ These things you did not 3consider Nor remember the 4outcome of 5them.

8“Now, then, hear this, you 6luxuriant one, Who 7lives securely, Who says in her heart, ‘8I am, and there is no one besides me. I will 9not sit as a widow, Nor know the loss of children.’9But these 10two things will come on you 11suddenly in one day: Loss of children and widowhood. They will come on you in full measure In spite of your many 12sorceries, In spite of the great power of your spells.10You felt 13secure in your wickedness and said, ‘14No one sees me,’ Your 15wisdom and your knowledge, 16they have led you astray; For you have said in your heart, ‘17I am, and there is no one besides me.’
