Isaiah 47:6-10

6I was angry with My people, I profaned My heritage And gave them into your hand. You did not show mercy to them, On the 1aged you made your yoke very heavy.7Yet you said, ‘I will be a 2queen forever.’ These things you did not 3consider Nor remember the 4outcome of 5them.

8“Now, then, hear this, you 6sensual one, Who 7dwells securely, Who says in 8your heart, ‘9I am, and there is no one besides me. I will 10not sit as a widow, Nor know loss of children.’9But these 11two things will come on you 12suddenly in one day: Loss of children and widowhood. They will come on you in full measure In spite of your many 13sorceries, In spite of the great power of your spells.10You felt 14secure in your wickedness and said, ‘15No one sees me,’ Your 16wisdom and your knowledge, 17they have deluded you; For you have said in your heart, ‘18I am, and there is no one besides me.’
