Hebrews 9:19-28

19For when every commandment had been 1spoken by Moses to all the people according to the Law, 2he took the 3blood of the calves and the goats, with 4water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both 5the book itself and all the people, 20saying, “6This is the blood of the covenant which God commanded you.” 21And in the same way he 7sprinkled both the 8tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry with the blood. 22And 9almost all things are cleansed with blood, according to the Law, and 10without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

23Therefore it was necessary for the 11copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these things, but 12the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24For Christ 13did not enter a holy place made by hands, a mere copy of 14the true one, but into 15heaven itself, now 16to appear in the presence of God for us; 25nor was it that He would offer Himself often, as 17the high priest enters 18the Holy Place 19year by year with blood that is not his own. 26Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since 20the foundation of the world; but now 21once at 22the consummation of the ages He has been 23revealed to put away sin 2425by the sacrifice of Himself. 27And just as 26it is destined for people to die once, and after this 27comes judgment, 28so Christ also, having been 28offered once to 29bear the sins of many, will appear 30a second time for 31salvation 32without reference to sin, to those who 33eagerly await Him.
