Hebrews 5:4-10
4And 1no one takes the honor for himself, but receives it when he is called by God, just 2as Aaron also was.
5So too Christ 3did not glorify Himself in becoming a 4high priest, but it was He who 5said to Him, “6You are My Son, Today I have fathered You”; 6just as He also says in another passage, “7You are a priest forever According to 8the order of Melchizedek.” 7In the days of 9His humanity, 1011He offered up both prayers and pleas with 12loud crying and tears to the One 13able to save Him 14from death, and He 15was heard because of His 16devout behavior. 8Although He was 17a Son, He learned 18obedience from the things which He suffered. 9And having been 19perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him, 10being designated by God as 20High Priest according to 21the order of Melchizedek.
