1 John 4:7-21

71Beloved, let’s 2love one another; for love is from God, and 3everyone who loves has been 4born of God and 5knows God. 8The one who does not love does not know God, because 6God is love. 9By this the love of God was revealed 78in us, that 9God has sent His only Son into the world so that we may live through Him. 10In this is love, 10not that we loved God, but that 11He loved us and sent His Son to be 12the 13propitiation for our sins. 1114Beloved, if God so loved us, 15we also ought to love one another. 1216No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God remains in us, and His 17love is perfected in us. 1318By this we know that we remain in Him and He in us, because He has given to us of His Spirit. 14We have seen and 19testify that the Father has 20sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

1521Whoever confesses that 22Jesus is the Son of God, God 23remains in him, and he in God. 1624We have come to know and have believed the love which God has 2526for us. 27God is love, and the one who 28remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. 17By this, 29love is perfected with us, so that we may have 30confidence in 31the day of judgment; because 32as He is, we also are in this world. 18There is no fear in love, but 33perfect love drives out fear, because fear 34involves punishment, and the one who fears is not 35perfected in love. 1936We love, because He first loved us. 2037If someone says, “I love God,” and yet he 38hates his brother or sister, he is a 39liar; for 40the one who does not love his brother and sister whom he has seen, 41cannot love God, whom he has not seen. 21And 42this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God 43must also love his brother and sister.
