Daniel 8:2-27
2I 1lookedH7200 in the visionH2377, and while I was lookingH7200 I was in the citadelH1002 of 2SusaH7800, whichH834 is in the provinceH4082 of 3ElamH5867; and I lookedH7200 in the visionH2377 and I myselfH589 was besideH5921 the UlaiH195 4CanalH180. 3Then I liftedH5375 my eyesH5869 and lookedH7200, and beholdH2009, a 5ramH352 which had two hornsH7161 was standingH5975 in frontH6440 of the 6canalH180. Now the two hornsH7161 were 7longH1364, but oneH259 was 8longerH1364 thanH4480 the otherH8145, with the 9longerH1364 oneH1364 comingH5927 up lastH314. 4I sawH7200 the ramH352 10buttingH5055 westwardH3220, northwardH6828, and southwardH5045, and noH3808 other beastsH2421 could standH5975 beforeH6440 him norH369 was thereH369 anyone to rescueH5337 from his 11powerH3027, but 12he didH6213 as he pleasedH7522 and magnifiedH1431 himself.
5While I was observingH995, beholdH2009, a maleH6842 goatH6842 was comingH935 from the westH4628 overH5921 the surfaceH6440 of the wholeH3605 earthH776 withoutH369 touchingH5060 the groundH776; and the 13goatH6842 had a 14conspicuousH2380 hornH7161 betweenH996 his eyesH5869. 6He cameH935 up to the ramH352 that had the two hornsH7161, whichH834 I had seenH7200 standingH5975 in frontH6440 of the 15canalH180, and rushedH7323 at him in his mightyH3581 wrathH2534. 7I sawH7200 him comeH5060 besideH681 the ramH352, and he was enragedH4843 at him; and he struckH5221 the ramH352 and shatteredH7665 his twoH8147 hornsH7161, and the ramH352 hadH1961 noH3808 strengthH3581 to withstandH5975 him. So he hurledH7993 him to the groundH776 and trampledH7429 on him, and there was noneH3808 to rescueH5337 the ramH352 from his 16powerH3027. 8Then the maleH6842 goatH5795 magnifiedH1431 himself exceedinglyH5704H3966. But as soon as 17he was mightyH6105, the 18largeH1419 hornH7161 was brokenH7665; and in its placeH8478 there cameH5927 up fourH702 conspicuousH2380 horns toward the 19fourH702 windsH7307 of heavenH8064.
9Out of oneH259 of them cameH3318 forthH3318 a rather 20smallH6810 hornH7161 which grewH1431 exceedinglyH3499 greatH1431 towardH413 the southH5045, towardH413 the eastH4217, and towardH413 the 2122BeautifulH6643 Land. 10It grewH1431 up to the hostH6635 of heavenH8064 and caused someH4480 of the hostH6635 and someH4480 of the 23starsH3556 to fallH5307 to the earthH776, and it 24trampledH7429 them downH7429. 11It evenH5704 25magnifiedH1431 itself 26to be equalH5704 with the 27CommanderH8269 of the hostH6635; and it removedH7311 the 28regularH8548 sacrificeH8548 from Him, and the placeH4349 of His sanctuaryH4720 was thrownH7993 downH7993. 12And on account of transgressionH6588 the hostH6635 will be givenH5414 over to the horn alongH5921 with the regularH8548 sacrificeH8548; and it will 29flingH7993 truthH571 to the groundH776 and performH6213 its will and prosperH6743. 13Then I heardH8085 a 30holyH6918 oneH6918 speakingH1696, and anotherH259 holyH6918 oneH6918 saidH559 to that particularH6423 oneH6423 who was speakingH1696, “31HowH4970 longH5704H4970 will the visionH2377 about the regularH8548 sacrificeH8548 apply, 32while the transgressionH6588 causesH8074 horrorH8074, so as to allowH5414 both the holyH6944 place and the hostH6635 33to be 34trampledH4823?” 14He saidH559 to me, “For 352,300H505H7969H3967 eveningsH6153 and morningsH1242; then the holyH6944 place will be 36properlyH6663 restoredH6663.”
15When 37I, DanielH1840, had seenH7200 the visionH2377, I soughtH1245 38to understandH998 it; and beholdH2009, standingH5975 beforeH5048 me was one 39whoH4758 lookedH4758 like a 40manH1397. 16And I heardH8085 the voiceH6963 of a manH120 betweenH996 the banks of UlaiH195, and he calledH7121 out and saidH559, “41GabrielH1403, giveH995 thisH1975 man an understandingH995 of the visionH4758.” 17So he cameH935 nearH681 to whereH5977 I was standingH5977, and when he cameH935 I was frightenedH1204 and 42fellH5307 on my faceH6440; but he saidH559 to me, “SonH1121 of manH120, understandH995 that the visionH2377 pertains to the 43timeH6256 of the endH7093.”
18Now while he was talkingH1696 with me, I 44sankH7290 into a deepH7290 sleepH7290 with my faceH6440 to the groundH776; but he 45touchedH5060 me and made me standH5975 46uprightH5921H5977. 19He saidH559, “BeholdH2009, I am going to 47let you knowH3045 whatH834 will occurH1961 at the finalH319 periodH319 of the indignationH2195, for it pertains to the appointedH4150 timeH4150 of the endH7093. 20The 48ramH352 whichH834 you sawH7200 with the two hornsH7161 represents the kingsH4428 of MediaH4074 and PersiaH6539. 21The shaggyH8163 49goatH5795 represents the 50kingdomH4428 of GreeceH3120, and the largeH1419 hornH7161 that is betweenH996 his eyesH5869 is the firstH7223 kingH4428. 22The 51brokenH7665 horn and the fourH702 horns that aroseH5975 in its placeH8478 represent fourH702 kingdomsH4438 which will ariseH5975 from his nationH1471, although not with his powerH3581.23In the latterH319 periodH319 of their 52ruleH4438, When the transgressorsH6586 have 53runH8552 their course, A kingH4428 will ariseH5975, 54InsolentH5794H6440 and skilledH995 in 55intrigueH2420.24His powerH3581 will be mightyH6105, but not by his own powerH3581, And he will 5657destroyH7843 to an extraordinaryH6381 degreeH6381 And prosperH6743 and performH6213 his will; He will 58destroyH7843 mightyH6099 menH6099 and 59the holyH6918 peopleH5971.25And throughH5921 his shrewdnessH7922 He will cause deceitH4820 to succeedH6743 by his 60influenceH3027; And he will magnifyH1431 himself in his heartH3824, And he will 61destroyH7843 manyH7227 while they are 62at easeH7962. He will even 6364opposeH5975 the PrinceH8269 of princesH8269, But he will be brokenH7665 65withoutH657 66humanH3027 agencyH3027.26The visionH4758 of the eveningsH6153 and morningsH1242 WhichH834 has been toldH559 is 67trueH571; But 68keepH5640 the visionH2377 secretH5640, For it pertains to manyH7227 69daysH3117 in the future.”
27Then I, DanielH1840, was 7071exhaustedH1961 and sickH2470 for daysH3117. Then I gotH6965 up again and 72carriedH6213 on the king’sH4428 businessH4399; but I was astoundedH8074 at the visionH4758, and thereH369 was noneH369 to 73explainH995 it.
