2 Samuel 1:6-21
6The youngH5288 manH5288 who toldH5046 him saidH559, “By chanceH7122 I happenedH7136 to be on 1MountH2022 GilboaH1533, and beholdH2009, 2SaulH7586 was leaningH8172 on his spearH2595. And beholdH2009, the chariotsH7393 and the horsemenH6571 pursuedH1692 him closelyH1692. 7When he lookedH6437 behindH310 him, he sawH7200 me and calledH7121 to me. And I saidH559, ‘HereH2009 I am.’ 8He saidH559 to me, ‘WhoH4310 are you?’ And I 3answeredH559 him, ‘4I am an AmalekiteH6003.’ 9Then he saidH559 to me, ‘PleaseH4994 standH5975 besideH5921 me and killH4191 me, for agonyH7661 has seizedH270 me becauseH3588 my 5lifeH5315 stillH5750 lingers in me.’ 10So I stoodH5975 besideH5921 him 6and killedH4191 him, becauseH3588 I knewH3045 that he could not liveH2421 afterH310 he had fallenH5307. And 7I tookH3947 the crownH5145 whichH834 was on his headH7218 and the braceletH685 whichH834 was on his armH2220, and I have broughtH935 them hereH2008 to my lordH113.”
11Then 8DavidH1732 tookH2388 holdH2388 of his clothesH899 and toreH7167 them, and so alsoH1571 did allH3605 the menH376 whoH834 were with him. 12They mournedH5594 and weptH1058 and 9fastedH6684 untilH5704 eveningH6153 for SaulH7586 and his sonH1121 JonathanH3083 and for the peopleH5971 of the LordH3068 and the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, becauseH3588 they had fallenH5307 by the swordH2719. 13DavidH1732 saidH559 to the youngH5288 manH5288 who toldH5046 him, “WhereH335 are you from?” And he 10answeredH559, “11I am the sonH1121 of an alienH1616, an AmalekiteH6003.” 14Then DavidH1732 saidH559 to him, “HowH349 is it you were not afraidH3372 12to stretchH7971 out your handH3027 to destroyH7843 the Lord’sH3068 anointedH4899?” 15And DavidH1732 calledH7121 oneH259 of the youngH5288 menH5288 and saidH559, “GoH5066, 13cutH6293 him downH6293.” 14So he struckH5221 him and he diedH4191. 16DavidH1732 saidH559 to him, “15Your bloodH1818 is on your headH7218, for 16your mouthH6310 has testifiedH6030 against you, sayingH559, ‘I have killedH4191 the Lord’sH3068 anointedH4899.’”
17Then DavidH1732 17chantedH6969 with thisH2088 lamentH7015 overH5921 SaulH7586 and JonathanH3083 his sonH1121, 18and he toldH559 them to teachH3925 the sonsH1121 of JudahH3063 the song of the bowH7198; beholdH2009, it is writtenH3789 in 18the bookH5612 of JasharH3477.19“19Your beautyH6643, O IsraelH3478, is slainH2491 on your highH1116 placesH1116! 20HowH349 have the mightyH1368 fallenH5307!2021TellH5046 it not in GathH1661, ProclaimH1319 it not in the streetsH2351 of AshkelonH831, OrH6435 22the daughtersH1323 of the PhilistinesH6430 will rejoiceH8055, The daughtersH1323 of 23the uncircumcisedH6189 will exultH5937.2124O mountainsH2022 of GilboaH1533, 25Let not dewH2919 or rainH4306 be on you, norH408 fieldsH7704 of offeringsH8641; For thereH8033 the shieldH4043 of the mightyH1368 was defiledH1602, The shieldH4043 of SaulH7586, not 26anointedH4899 with oilH8081.
