1 Samuel 10:17-27
17Thereafter SamuelH8050 calledH6817 the 1peopleH5971 togetherH6817 to the LordH3068 at MizpahH4709; 18and he saidH559 to the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478, “2ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, ‘I broughtH5927 IsraelH3478 up from EgyptH4714, and I deliveredH5337 you from the handH3027 of the EgyptiansH4714 and from the 3powerH3027 of allH3605 the kingdomsH4467 that were oppressingH3905 you.’ 19But you 4have todayH3117 rejectedH3988 your GodH430, whoH834 deliversH3467 you from allH3605 your calamitiesH7463 and your distressesH6869; yet you have 5saidH559, ‘NoH3808, but setH7760 a kingH4428 overH5921 us!’ NowH6258 therefore, 6presentH3320 yourselves beforeH6440 the LordH3068 by your tribesH7626 and by your clansH505.”
20Thus SamuelH8050 broughtH7126 allH3605 the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478 nearH7126, and the tribeH7626 of BenjaminH1144 was takenH3920 by lot. 21Then he broughtH7126 the tribeH7626 of BenjaminH1144 nearH7126 by its familiesH4940, and the MatriteH4309 familyH4940 was takenH3920. And SaulH7586 the sonH1121 of KishH7027 was takenH3920; but when they lookedH1245 for him, he could not be foundH4672. 22Therefore 7they inquiredH7592 furtherH5750 of the LordH3068, “Has the manH376 comeH935 hereH1988 yetH5750?” So the LordH3068 saidH559, “BeholdH2009, he is hidingH2244 himselfH1931 by the baggageH3627.” 23So they ranH7323 and tookH3947 him from thereH8033, and when he stoodH3320 amongH8432 the peopleH5971, 8he was tallerH1361 thanH4480 anyH3605 of the peopleH5971 from his shouldersH7926 upwardH4605. 24SamuelH8050 saidH559 to allH3605 the peopleH5971, “Do you seeH7200 him 9whomH834 the LordH3068 has chosenH977? SurelyH3588 thereH369 is noH369 oneH369 likeH3644 him among allH3605 the peopleH5971.” So allH3605 the peopleH5971 shoutedH7321 and saidH559, “1011Long liveH2421 the kingH4428!”
25Then SamuelH8050 toldH1696 the peopleH5971 12the ordinancesH4941 of the kingdomH4410, and wroteH3789 them in the bookH5612 and 13placedH5117 it beforeH6440 the LordH3068. And SamuelH8050 sentH7971 allH3605 the peopleH5971 awayH7971, eachH376 oneH376 to his houseH1004. 26SaulH7586 alsoH1571 wentH1980 14to his houseH1004 at GibeahH1390; and the valiantH2428 men whoseH834 heartsH3820 GodH430 had touchedH5060 wentH1980 with him. 27But certain 1516worthlessH1100 menH1121 saidH559, “HowH4100 can thisH2088 oneH2088 deliverH3467 us?” And they despisedH959 him and 17did not bringH935 him any presentH4503. But he keptH2790 silentH2790.
