15But when PharaohH6547sawוַיַּ֣רְאvai.Yar'H7200that there was reliefהָֽרְוָחָ֔הha.re.va.ChahH7309, hehardenedוְהַכְבֵּד֙ve.hakh.BedH3513his heartH3820anddid not listenH8085to them, as the LordH3068had saidH1696.

16Then the LordH3068saidH559to MosesH4872, “SayH559to Aaronאַהֲרֹ֔ן'a.ha.RonH175, ‘Stretchנְטֵ֣הne.TehH5186out your staffמַטְּךָ֔ma.te.KhaH4294and strikeוְהַ֖ךְve.HakhH5221the dustעֲפַ֣ר'a.FarH6083of the earthהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776,that it may becomeוְהָיָ֥הve.ha.YahH1961gnatsלְכִנִּ֖םle.khi.NimH3654through allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.’”

17They didוַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־vai.ya.'a.su-H6213soכֵ֗ןKhenH3651;and Aaronאַהֲרֹ֨ן'a.ha.RonH175stretchedוַיֵּט֩vai.YetH5186out his handיָד֤וֹya.DoH3027with his staffבְמַטֵּ֙הוּ֙ve.ma.Te.huH4294,and struckוַיַּךְ֙vai.yaKhH5221the dustעֲפַ֣ר'a.FarH6083of the earthהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776, and there weregnatsהַכִּנָּ֔םha.ki.NamH3654on manבָּאָדָ֖םba.'a.DamH120and beastוּבַבְּהֵמָ֑הu.va.be.he.MahH929.Allכָּל־kol-H3605the dustעֲפַ֥ר'a.FarH6083of the earthהָאָ֛רֶץha.'A.retzH776becameH1961gnatsכִנִּ֖יםkhi.NimH3654through allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

18Themagiciansהַחַרְטֻמִּ֧יםha.char.tu.MimH2748triedוַיַּעֲשׂוּ־vai.ya.'a.su-H6213with their secretH3909artsH3909to bringלְהוֹצִ֥יאle.ho.Tzi'H3318forthH3318gnatsהַכִּנִּ֖יםha.ki.NimH3654, butthey couldיָכֹ֑לוּya.Kho.luH3201not; so there weregnatsהַכִּנָּ֔םha.ki.NamH3654on manבָּאָדָ֖םba.'a.DamH120and beastוּבַבְּהֵמָֽה׃u.va.be.he.MahH929.

19Then themagiciansהַֽחַרְטֻמִּים֙ha.char.tu.MimH2748saidוַיֹּאמְר֤וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547, “Thisהִ֑ואhi'H1931is the fingerאֶצְבַּ֥ע'etz.Ba'H676of Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430.”But Pharaoh’sפַּרְעֹה֙par.'OhH6547heartלֵב־lev-H3820washardenedוַיֶּחֱזַ֤קvai.ye.che.ZakH2388,and he did not listenשָׁמַ֣עsha.Ma'H8085to them, as the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068had saidדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696.

20Now the LordH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֗הmo.ShehH4872, “Riseהַשְׁכֵּ֤םhash.KemH7925earlyH7925in the morningבַּבֹּ֙קֶר֙ba.Bo.kerH1242and presentוְהִתְיַצֵּב֙ve.hit.ya.TzevH3320yourselfH3320beforeH6440PharaohH6547, ashe comesיוֹצֵ֣אyo.Tze'H3318out to the waterהַמָּ֑יְמָהha.Ma.ye.mahH4325,and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559to him, ‘Thusכֹּ֚הkohH3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the LordH3068, “LetH7971My peopleעַמִּ֖י'a.MiH5971goשַׁלַּ֥חsha.LachH7971,that they may serveוְיַֽעַבְדֻֽנִי׃ve.Ya.'av.Du.niH5647Me.

21For ifאִם־'im-H518you do not letH7971My peopleעַמִּי֒'a.MiH5971goמְשַׁלֵּ֣חַme.sha.Le.achH7971,beholdH2009,I will sendמַשְׁלִ֨יחַmash.Li.achH7971swarmsהֶעָרֹ֑בhe.'a.RoH6157of flies on you and on your servantsוּבַעֲבָדֶ֧יךָu.va.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650and on your peopleוּֽבְעַמְּךָ֛u.ve.'a.me.KhaH5971and into your housesוּבְבָתֶּ֖יךָu.ve.va.Tei.khaH1004;and the housesבָּתֵּ֤יba.TeiH1004of the EgyptiansH4714will be fullוּמָ֨לְא֜וּu.Mal.'UH4390of swarmsהֶ֣עָרֹ֔בhe.'a.RoH6157of flies, and alsoוְגַ֥םve.GamH1571the groundהָאֲדָמָ֖הha.'a.da.MahH127on whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834they dwell.

22But on that dayבַיּ֨וֹםvai.YomH3117I will setH6395apartH6395the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Goshenגֹּ֗שֶׁןGo.shenH1657,whereאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834My peopleעַמִּי֙'a.MiH5971arelivingעֹמֵ֣ד'o.MedH5975,so that noלְבִלְתִּ֥יle.vil.TiH1115swarmsעָרֹ֑בa.RoH6157of flies will be thereשָׁ֖םshamH8033,in orderלְמַ֣עַןle.Ma.'anH4616that you may knowתֵּדַ֔עte.Da'H3045thatI, the LordH3068,am in the midstבְּקֶ֥רֶבbe.Ke.revH7130of the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.

23I willputוְשַׂמְתִּ֣יve.sam.TiH7760a divisionפְדֻ֔תfe.DutH6304betweenH996My peopleעַמִּ֖י'a.MiH5971and your peopleעַמֶּ֑ךָ'a.Me.khaH5971.Tomorrowלְמָחָ֥רle.ma.CharH4279thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088signהָאֹ֥תha.'OtH226will occurיִהְיֶ֖הyih.YehH1961.”’”

24Then the LordH3068didוַיַּ֤עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213soכֵּ֔ןKenH3651.And there cameוַיָּבֹא֙vai.ya.Vo'H935greatכָּבֵ֔דka.VedH3515swarmsעָרֹ֣בa.RoH6157of flies into the houseבֵּ֥יתָהBei.tahH1004of PharaohH6547and the housesוּבֵ֣יתu.VeitH1004of his servantsעֲבָדָ֑יו'a.va.DavH5650and the landאֶ֧רֶץ'E.retzH776waslaidH7843wasteH7843becauseמִפְּנֵ֥יmi.pe.NeiH4480 H6440of the swarmsהֶעָרֹֽב׃he.'a.RoH6157of flies in allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֛יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714.

25PharaohH6547calledוַיִּקְרָ֣אvai.yik.Ra'H7121for MosesH4872and Aaronוּֽלְאַהֲרֹ֑ןu.le.'a.ha.RonH175and saidH559, “Goלְכ֛וּle.KhuH1980,sacrificeH2076to your Godלֵֽאלֹהֵיכֶ֖םle.lo.hei.KhemH430within the landבָּאָֽרֶץ׃ba.'A.retzH776.”

26But MosesH4872saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “It is not rightנָכוֹן֙na.khOnH3559to doלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213soכֵּ֔ןKenH3651,for we will sacrificeנִזְבַּ֖חniz.BachH2076to the LordH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430what isan abominationתּוֹעֲבַ֣תto.'a.VatH8441to the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714.Ifהֵ֣ןhenH2005we sacrificeנִזְבַּ֞חniz.BachH2076what is an abominationתּוֹעֲבַ֥תto.'a.VatH8441to the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֛יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714before their eyesלְעֵינֵיהֶ֖םle.'ei.nei.HemH5869,will they not then stoneיִסְקְלֻֽנוּ׃yis.ke.Lu.nuH5619us?

27We must goנֵלֵ֖ךְne.LekhH1980athreeשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁתshe.Lo.shetH7969days’יָמִ֔יםya.MimH3117journeyדֶּ֚רֶךְDe.rekhH1870into the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057and sacrificeוְזָבַ֙חְנוּ֙ve.za.Vach.nuH2076to the LordH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430as Hecommandsיֹאמַ֥רyo.MarH559us.”

28PharaohH6547saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “I will letאֲשַׁלַּ֤ח'a.sha.LachH7971you goשִׁלַּ֖חshi.LachH7971,that you may sacrificeוּזְבַחְתֶּ֞םu.ze.vach.TemH2076to the Lordלַיהוָ֤הla.Yah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֙'e.lo.hei.KhemH430in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֔רba.mid.BarH4057;onlyH7534you shall not goלָלֶ֑כֶתla.Le.khetH1980very farH7368away.MakeH6279supplicationH6279for me.”

29Then Mosesמֹשֶׁ֗הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Beholdהִנֵּ֨הhi.NehH2009,I am goingיוֹצֵ֤אyo.Tze'H3318out from you, and I shall makeH6279supplicationH6279to the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068that the swarmsהֶעָרֹ֗בhe.'a.RoH6157of flies may departוְסָ֣רve.SarH5493from Pharaohמִפַּרְעֹ֛הmi.par.'OhH6547,from his servantsמֵעֲבָדָ֥יוme.'a.va.DavH5650,and from his peopleוּמֵעַמּ֖וֹu.me.'a.MoH5971tomorrowמָחָ֑רma.CharH4279;onlyH7534do not let Pharaohפַּרְעֹה֙par.'OhH6547dealH8524deceitfullyH8524againיֹסֵ֤ףyo.SefH3254in not lettingH7971the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971goשַׁלַּ֣חsha.LachH7971to sacrificeלִזְבֹּ֖חַliz.Bo.achH2076to the Lordלַֽיהוָֽה׃la.Yah.wehH3068.”

30SoMosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872wentוַיֵּצֵ֥אvai.ye.Tze'H3318out from Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֑הpar.'OhH6547and madeH6279supplicationH6279to the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

31The Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068didוַיַּ֤עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213as Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872askedכִּדְבַ֣רkid.VarH1697,and removedוַיָּ֙סַר֙vai.Ya.sarH5493the swarmsהֶעָרֹ֔בhe.'a.RoH6157of flies from Pharaohמִפַּרְעֹ֖הmi.par.'OhH6547,from his servantsמֵעֲבָדָ֣יוme.'a.va.DavH5650and from his peopleוּמֵעַמּ֑וֹu.me.'a.MoH5971;not oneאֶחָֽד׃'e.ChadH259remainedנִשְׁאַ֖רnish.'ArH7604.
