18He walkedוַיֵּ֜לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980in the wayבְּדֶ֣רֶךְ׀be.De.rekhH1870of the kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478,justH3512as the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Ahabאַחְאָ֔ב'ach.'AvH256had doneעָשׂוּ֙'a.SuH6213, forthe daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of Ahabאַחְאָ֔ב'ach.'AvH256becameהָֽיְתָה־ha.ye.tah-H1961his wifeלְאִשָּׁ֑הle.'i.ShahH802;and he didוַיַּ֥עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213evilהָרַ֖עha.Ra'H7451in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֥יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

19However, the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068was not willingאָבָ֤ה'a.VahH14to destroyלְהַשְׁחִ֣יתle.hash.ChitH7843Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,for the sakeלְמַ֖עַןle.Ma.'anH4616of Davidדָּוִ֣דda.VidH1732His servantעַבְדּ֑וֹav.DoH5650,sinceH3512He hadpromisedאָֽמַר־'a.mar-H559him to giveלָתֵ֨תla.TetH5414alampH5215to him through his sonsלְבָנָ֖יוle.va.NavH1121alwaysכָּל־ הַיָּמִֽים׃kol- hai.ya.MimH3605 H3117.

20In his daysבְּיָמָיו֙be.ya.MavH3117EdomH112revoltedפָּשַׁ֣עpa.Sha'H6586from underמִתַּ֖חַתmi.Ta.chatH8478the handיַד־yad-H3027of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,and madeH4427a kingוַיַּמְלִ֥כוּvai.yam.Li.khuH4427overעֲלֵיהֶ֖ם'a.lei.HemH5921themselves.

21Then Joramיוֹרָם֙yo.RamH3141crossedH5674overH5674to Zairצָעִ֔ירָהtza.'I.rahH6811,and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605his chariotsהָרֶ֖כֶבha.Re.khevH7393with him. And he aroseקָ֣םkamH6965by nightלַ֗יְלָהLay.lahH3915and struckוַיַּכֶּ֨הvai.ya.KehH5221the EdomitesH112who had surroundedהַסֹּבֵ֤יבha.so.VeivH5437him and the captainsשָׂרֵ֣יsa.ReiH8269of the chariotsהָרֶ֔כֶבha.Re.khevH7393; but hisarmyהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971fledוַיָּ֥נָסvai.Ya.nosH5127to their tentsלְאֹהָלָֽיו׃le.'o.ha.LavH168.
