2Davidדָּוִ֜ידda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to allלְכֹ֣ל׀le.KholH3605the assemblyקְהַ֣לke.HalH6951of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478, “Ifאִם־'im-H518it seems goodH2895to you, and if it is from the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430,let us sendנִשְׁלְחָ֞הnish.le.ChahH7971everywhereנִפְרְצָה֙nif.re.TzahH6555to our kinsmenאַחֵ֣ינוּ'a.Chei.nuH251who remainהַנִּשְׁאָרִ֗יםha.nish.'a.RimH7604in allבְּכֹל֙be.KholH3605the landאַרְצ֣וֹת'ar.TzotH776of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,also to the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֥יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548and Levitesוְהַלְוִיִּ֖םve.hal.vi.YimH3881who are with them in their citiesבְּעָרֵ֣יbe.'a.ReiH5892with pastureמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶ֑םmig.re.shei.HemH4054landsH4054,that they may meetוְיִקָּבְצ֖וּve.yi.ka.ve.TzuH6908with us;

3and let us bringוְנָסֵ֛בָּהve.na.Se.bahH5437backH5437the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of our Godאֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430to us,for we did not seekדְרַשְׁנֻ֖הוּde.rash.Nu.huH1875it in the daysבִּימֵ֥יbi.MeiH3117of Saulשָׁאֽוּל׃sha.'UlH7586.”

6Davidדָּוִ֤ידda.VidH1732and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478wentוַיַּ֨עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927up toBaalahבַּעֲלָ֔תָהba.'a.La.tahH1173, that is,to Kiriath-jearimH7157,whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834belongs to Judahלִיהוּדָ֑הli.hu.DahH3063,to bringלְהַעֲל֣וֹתle.ha.'a.LotH5927up from thereמִשָּׁ֗םmi.ShamH8033the arkאֲר֨וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֧ים׀ha.'E.lo.HimH430,the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068who is enthronedיוֹשֵׁ֥בyo.ShevH3427abovethe cherubimהַכְּרוּבִ֖יםha.ke.ru.VimH3742,whereאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834His nameשֵֽׁם׃ShemH8034is calledנִקְרָ֥אnik.Ra'H7121.

9When they cameוַיָּבֹ֖אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935tothe threshingגֹּ֣רֶןGo.renH1637floorH1637of Chidonכִּידֹ֑ןki.DonH3592,Uzzaעֻזָּ֜א'u.Za'H5798putוַיִּשְׁלַ֨חvai.yish.LachH7971out his handיָד֗וֹya.DoH3027to holdלֶאֱחֹז֙le.'e.ChozH270the arkהָ֣אָר֔וֹןha.'a.RonH727,becauseכִּ֥יkiH3588the oxenהַבָּקָֽר׃ha.ba.KarH1241nearly upsetשָֽׁמְט֖וּsha.me.TuH8058it.

10The angerאַ֤ף'afH639of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068burnedוַיִּֽחַר־vai.yi.char-H2734against Uzzaבְּעֻזָּ֔אbe.'u.Za'H5798,so He struckH5221him downוַיַּכֵּ֕הוּvai.ya.Ke.huH5221becauseאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H5921 H834he putשָׁלַ֥חsha.LachH7971out his handיָד֖וֹya.DoH3027to the arkהָאָר֑וֹןha.'a.RonH727;and he diedוַיָּ֥מָתvai.Ya.motH4191thereשָׁ֖םshamH8033beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440Godאֱלֹהִֽים׃'E.lo.HimH430.

11Then Davidלְדָוִ֔ידle.da.VidH1732becameH2734angryH2734becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588of the Lord’sיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068outburstפָרַ֧ץ פֶּ֖רֶץfa.Ratz Pe.retzH6555 H6556against Uzzaבְּעֻזָּ֑אbe.'u.Za'H5798;and he calledוַיִּקְרָ֞אvai.yik.Ra'H7121that placeלַמָּק֤וֹםla.ma.KomH4725Perez-uzzaH6560to thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.

12Davidדָוִיד֙da.VidH1732was afraidוַיִּירָ֤אvai.yi.Ra'H3372of Godהָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430that dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “Howהֵ֚יךְheikhH1963can I bringאָבִ֣יא'a.Vi'H935the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ha.'E.lo.HimH430home to me?”

13So Davidדָּוִ֧ידda.VidH1732did not takeהֵסִ֨ירhe.SirH5493the arkהָאָר֛וֹןha.'a.RonH727with him to the cityעִ֣יר'irH5892of Davidדָּוִ֑ידda.VidH1732,but tookH5186it asideוַיַּטֵּ֕הוּvai.ya.Te.huH5186to the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Obed-edomH5654the Gittiteהַגִּתִּֽי׃ha.gi.TiH1663.

14Thus the arkאֲר֨וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֜יםha.'E.lo.HimH430remainedוַיֵּשֶׁב֩vai.ye.ShevH3427with the familyבֵּ֨יתbeitH1004of Obed-edomH5654in his houseבְּבֵית֖וֹbe.vei.ToH1004threeשְׁלֹשָׁ֣הshe.lo.ShahH7969monthsחֳדָשִׁ֑יםcho.da.ShimH2320; andthe Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068blessedוַיְבָ֧רֶךְvay.Va.rekhH1288the familyבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Obed-edomH5654with allכָּל־kol-H3605that he had.
