1And Davidדָּוִ֗ידda.VidH1732consultedוַיִּוָּעַ֣ץvai.yi.va.'AtzH3289with the captainsשָׂרֵ֧יsa.ReiH8269of thousandsהָאֲלָפִ֛יםha.'a.la.FimH505and hundredsוְהַמֵּא֖וֹתve.ha.me.'otH3967, andwith every leaderנָגִֽיד׃na.GidH5057.

2And Davidדָּוִ֜ידda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto all the congregationקְהַ֣לke.HalH6951of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478, If it seemgoodH2895unto you, and that it beof the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430,let us sendנִשְׁלְחָ֞הnish.le.ChahH7971abroadנִפְרְצָה֙nif.re.TzahH6555unto our brethrenאַחֵ֣ינוּ'a.Chei.nuH251every where, that areleftהַנִּשְׁאָרִ֗יםha.nish.'a.RimH7604in all the landאַרְצ֣וֹת'ar.TzotH776of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478, and with them alsoto the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֥יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548and Levitesוְהַלְוִיִּ֖םve.hal.vi.YimH3881which arein their citiesבְּעָרֵ֣יbe.'a.ReiH5892andsuburbsמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶ֑םmig.re.shei.HemH4054,that they may gatherוְיִקָּבְצ֖וּve.yi.ka.ve.TzuH6908themselves unto us:

3And let us bring againוְנָסֵ֛בָּהve.na.Se.bahH5437the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of our Godאֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430to us: for we enquiredדְרַשְׁנֻ֖הוּde.rash.Nu.huH1875not at it in the daysבִּימֵ֥יbi.MeiH3117of Saulשָׁאֽוּל׃sha.'UlH7586.

4And all the congregationהַקָּהָ֖לha.ka.HalH6951saidוַיֹּאמְר֥וּvai.yo.me.RuH559that they would do soלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213:for the thingהַדָּבָ֖רha.da.VarH1697was rightיָשַׁ֥רya.SharH3474in the eyesבְּעֵינֵ֥יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of all the peopleהָעָֽם׃ha.'AmH5971.

5So Davidדָּוִיד֙da.VidH1732gatheredH6950all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478togetherוַיַּקְהֵ֤לvai.yak.HelH6950,from Shihorשִׁיח֥וֹרshi.ChorH7883of Egyptמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714even unto the enteringלְב֣וֹאle.Vo'H935of Hemathחֲמָ֑תcha.MatH2574,to bringלְהָבִיא֙le.ha.Vi'H935the arkאֲר֣וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430from Kirjath–jearimH7157.

6And Davidדָּוִ֤ידda.VidH1732went upוַיַּ֨עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927,and all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478,to Baalahבַּעֲלָ֔תָהba.'a.La.tahH1173, that is,to Kirjath–jearimH7157, which belongedto Judahלִיהוּדָ֑הli.hu.DahH3063,to bring upלְהַעֲל֣וֹתle.ha.'a.LotH5927thence the arkאֲר֨וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֧ים׀ha.'E.lo.HimH430the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068,that dwellethיוֹשֵׁ֥בyo.ShevH3427betweenthe cherubimsהַכְּרוּבִ֖יםha.ke.ru.VimH3742,whose nameשֵֽׁם׃ShemH8034is calledנִקְרָ֥אnik.Ra'H7121on it.

7And they carriedוַיַּרְכִּ֜יבוּvai.yar.Ki.vuH7392the arkאֲר֤וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִים֙ha.'E.lo.HimH430in a newחֲדָשָׁ֔הcha.da.ShahH2319cartעֲגָלָ֣ה'a.ga.LahH5699out of the houseמִבֵּ֖יתmi.BeitH1004of Abinadabאֲבִינָדָ֑ב'a.vi.na.DavH41:and Uzzaוְעֻזָּ֣אve.'u.Za'H5798and Ahioוְאַחְי֔וֹve.'ach.YoH283draveנֹהֲגִ֖יםno.ha.GimH5090the cartבָּעֲגָלָֽה׃ba.'a.ga.LahH5699.

8And Davidוְדָוִ֣ידve.da.VidH1732and all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478playedמְשַׂחֲקִ֛יםme.sa.cha.KimH7832beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430with all theirmightעֹ֑ז'OzH5797,and with singingוּבְשִׁירִ֤יםu.ve.shi.RimH7892,and with harpsוּבְכִנֹּרוֹת֙u.ve.khi.no.rOtH3658,and with psalteriesוּבִנְבָלִ֣יםu.vin.va.LimH5035,and with timbrelsוּבְתֻפִּ֔יםu.ve.tu.PimH8596,and with cymbalsוּבִמְצִלְתַּ֖יִםu.vim.tzil.Ta.yimH4700,and with trumpetsוּבַחֲצֹצְרֽוֹת׃u.va.cha.tzo.tze.RotH2689.

9And when they cameוַיָּבֹ֖אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935unto the threshingfloorגֹּ֣רֶןGo.renH1637of Chidonכִּידֹ֑ןki.DonH3592,Uzzaעֻזָּ֜א'u.Za'H5798put forthוַיִּשְׁלַ֨חvai.yish.LachH7971his handיָד֗וֹya.DoH3027to holdלֶאֱחֹז֙le.'e.ChozH270the arkהָ֣אָר֔וֹןha.'a.RonH727;for the oxenהַבָּקָֽר׃ha.ba.KarH1241stumbledשָֽׁמְט֖וּsha.me.TuH8058.

10And the angerאַ֤ף'afH639of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068was kindledוַיִּֽחַר־vai.yi.char-H2734against Uzzaבְּעֻזָּ֔אbe.'u.Za'H5798,and he smoteוַיַּכֵּ֕הוּvai.ya.Ke.huH5221him, because he putשָׁלַ֥חsha.LachH7971his handיָד֖וֹya.DoH3027to the arkהָאָר֑וֹןha.'a.RonH727:and there he diedוַיָּ֥מָתvai.Ya.motH4191beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440Godאֱלֹהִֽים׃'E.lo.HimH430.

11And Davidלְדָוִ֔ידle.da.VidH1732was displeasedוַיִּ֣חַרvai.Yi.charH2734,because the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068had madeפָרַ֧ץfa.RatzH6555a breachפֶּ֖רֶץPe.retzH6556upon Uzzaבְּעֻזָּ֑אbe.'u.Za'H5798:wherefore that placeלַמָּק֤וֹםla.ma.KomH4725is calledוַיִּקְרָ֞אvai.yik.Ra'H7121Perez–uzzaH6560to this dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.

12And Davidדָוִיד֙da.VidH1732was afraidוַיִּירָ֤אvai.yi.Ra'H3372of Godהָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430that dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Howהֵ֚יךְheikhH1963shall I bringאָבִ֣יא'a.Vi'H935the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ha.'E.lo.HimH430home to me?

13So Davidדָּוִ֧ידda.VidH1732broughtהֵסִ֨ירhe.SirH5493not the arkהָאָר֛וֹןha.'a.RonH727hometo himself to the cityעִ֣יר'irH5892of Davidדָּוִ֑ידda.VidH1732,but carried it asideוַיַּטֵּ֕הוּvai.ya.Te.huH5186into the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Obed–edomH5654the Gittiteהַגִּתִּֽי׃ha.gi.TiH1663.

14And the arkאֲר֨וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֜יםha.'E.lo.HimH430remainedוַיֵּשֶׁב֩vai.ye.ShevH3427with the familyבֵּ֨יתbeitH1004of Obed–edomH5654in his houseבְּבֵית֖וֹbe.vei.ToH1004threeשְׁלֹשָׁ֣הshe.lo.ShahH7969monthsחֳדָשִׁ֑יםcho.da.ShimH2320.And the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068blessedוַיְבָ֧רֶךְvay.Va.rekhH1288the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Obed–edomH5654, and all that he had.
