4Now it cameוַיְהִי֙vay.HiH1961about afterאַחֲרֵיכֵ֔ן'a.cha.rei.KhenH310thisאַחֲרֵיכֵ֔ן'a.cha.rei.KhenH3651,that warמִלְחָמָ֛הmil.cha.MahH4421brokeוַתַּעֲמֹ֧דva.ta.'a.ModH5975out atGezerבְּגֶ֖זֶרbe.Ge.zerH1507with the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםpe.lish.TimH6430;thenאָ֣ז'azH227Sibbecaiסִבְּכַ֣יsi.be.KhaiH5444the Hushathiteהַחֻֽשָׁתִ֗יha.chu.sha.TiH2843killedהִכָּ֞הhi.KahH5221Sippaiסִפַּ֛יsi.PaiH5598,one of the descendantsמִילִדֵ֥יmi.li.DeiH3211of thegiantsH7498,and they were subduedוַיִּכָּנֵֽעוּ׃vai.yi.ka.Ne.'uH3665.

5And there was warמִלְחָמָ֖הmil.cha.MahH4421with the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםpe.lish.TimH6430againע֥וֹדodH5750,and Elhananאֶלְחָנָ֣ן'el.cha.NanH445the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121ofJairיָעִ֗ירya.'urH3265killedוַיַּ֞ךְvai.YakhH5221Lahmiלַחְמִי֙lach.MiH3902the brotherאֲחִי֙'a.ChiH251of Goliathגָּלְיָ֣תgal.YatH1555the Gittiteהַגִּתִּ֔יha.gi.TiH1663, theshaftוְעֵ֣ץve.'EtzH6086of whose spearחֲנִית֔וֹcha.ni.ToH2595waslike a weaver’sאֹרְגִֽים׃'o.re.GimH707beamכִּמְנ֖וֹרkim.NorH4500.

6Againע֥וֹדodH5750there was warמִלְחָמָ֖הmil.cha.MahH4421at Gathבְּגַ֑תbe.GatH1661,where there was a manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of greatstatureמִדָּ֗הmi.DahH4060who had twenty-fourעֶשְׂרִ֣ים וְאַרְבַּ֔ע'es.Rim ve.'ar.Ba'H6242 H702fingersH676and toesH676,sixשֵׁשׁ־shesh-H8337fingers on each handand sixוָשֵׁשׁ֙va.SheshH8337toes on each foot;and he alsoוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571was descendedנוֹלַ֥דno.LadH3205from the giantsH7498.

7When he tauntedוַיְחָרֵ֖ףvay.cha.RefH2778Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,Jonathanיְה֣וֹנָתָ֔ןye.Ho.na.TanH3083the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Shimeaשִׁמְעָ֖אshim.'A'H8092,David’sדָוִֽיד׃da.VidH1732brotherאֲחִ֥י'a.ChiH251,killedוַיַּכֵּ֙הוּ֙vai.ya.Ke.huH5221him.

8Theseאֵ֛ל'elH411were descendedנוּלְּד֥וּnu.le.DuH3205from the giantsH7498in Gathבְּגַ֑תbe.GatH1661,and they fellוַיִּפְּל֥וּvai.yi.pe.LuH5307by the handבְיַד־ve.yad-H3027of Davidדָּוִ֖ידda.VidH1732and by the handוּבְיַד־u.ve.yad-H3027of his servantsעֲבָדָֽיו׃ פ'a.va.DavH5650.
