2Avengeנְקֹ֗ם נִקְמַת֙ne.Kom nik.MatH5360 H5358the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478of the Midianitesהַמִּדְיָנִ֑יםha.mid.ya.NimH4084:afterwardאַחַ֖ר'a.CharH310shalt thou be gatheredתֵּאָסֵ֥ףte.'a.SefH622unto thy peopleעַמֶּֽיךָ׃'a.Mei.khaH5971.

3And Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872spakeוַיְדַבֵּ֤רvay.da.BerH1696unto the peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Armהֵחָלְצ֧וּhe.chal.TzuH2502someאֲנָשִׁ֖ים'a.na.ShimH582of yourselves unto the warלַצָּבָ֑אla.tza.Va'H6635,and let them go against the Midianitesמִדְיָ֔ןmid.YanH4080,and avengeלָתֵ֥ת נִקְמַת־la.Tet nik.mat-H5360 H5414the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068of Midianבְּמִדְיָֽן׃be.mid.YanH4080.

4Of every tribeH4294a thousandH505,throughout all the tribesH4294of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,shall ye sendתִּשְׁלְח֖וּtish.le.ChuH7971to the warלַצָּבָֽא׃la.tza.Va'H6635.

5So there were deliveredוַיִּמָּֽסְרוּ֙vai.yi.ma.se.RuH4560out of the thousandsמֵאַלְפֵ֣יme.'al.FeiH505of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,a thousandאֶ֖לֶף'E.lefH505of everytribeלַמַּטֶּ֑הla.ma.TehH4294,twelveשְׁנֵים־ עָשָׂ֥רshe.neim- 'a.SarH6240 H8147thousandאֶ֖לֶף'E.lefH505armedחֲלוּצֵ֥יcha.lu.TzeiH2502for warצָבָֽא׃tza.Va'H6635.

6And Mosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֨חvai.yish.LachH7971them to the warלַצָּבָ֑אla.tza.Va'H6635,a thousandאֶ֥לֶף'E.lefH505of everytribeלַמַּטֶּ֖הla.ma.TehH4294,them and Phinehasפִּ֨ינְחָ֜סpin.ChasH6372the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Eleazarאֶלְעָזָ֤ר'el.'a.ZarH499the priestהַכֹּהֵן֙ha.ko.HenH3548,to the warלַצָּבָ֔אla.tza.Va'H6635,with the holyהַקֹּ֛דֶשׁha.Ko.deshH6944instrumentsוּכְלֵ֥יu.khe.LeiH3627,and the trumpetsוַחֲצֹצְר֥וֹתva.cha.tzo.tze.RotH2689to blowהַתְּרוּעָ֖הha.te.ru.'AhH8643in his handבְּיָדֽוֹ׃be.ya.DoH3027.

7And they warredוַֽיִּצְבְּאוּ֙vai.yitz.be.'UH6633against the Midianitesמִדְיָ֔ןmid.YanH4080,as the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶׁ֑הmo.ShehH4872;and they slewוַיַּֽהַרְג֖וּvai.ya.har.GuH2026all the malesזָכָֽר׃za.KharH2145.

8And they slewהָרְג֣וּha.re.GuH2026the kingsמַלְכֵ֨יmal.KheiH4428of Midianמִדְיָ֜ןmid.YanH4080,besideעַל־'al-H5921the rest of them that were slainחַלְלֵיהֶ֗םcha.lei.HemH2491; namely,Eviאֱוִ֤י'e.ViH189,and Rekemרֶ֙קֶם֙re.kemH7552,and Zurצ֤וּרtzurH6698,and Hurחוּר֙churH2354,and Rebaרֶ֔בַעRe.va'H7254,fiveחֲמֵ֖שֶׁתcha.Me.shetH2568kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428of Midianמִדְיָ֑ןmid.YanH4080:Balaamבִּלְעָ֣םbil.'AmH1109also the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Beorבְּע֔וֹרbe.'orH1160they slewהָרְג֖וּha.re.GuH2026with the swordבֶּחָֽרֶב׃be.Cha.revH2719.

9And the childrenבְנֵי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478took allthe womenנְשֵׁ֥יne.SheiH802of Midianמִדְיָ֖ןmid.YanH4080captivesוַיִּשְׁבּ֧וּvai.yish.BuH7617,and their little onesטַפָּ֑םta.PamH2945,and took the spoilבָּזָֽזוּ׃ba.Za.zuH962of all their cattleבְּהֶמְתָּ֧םbe.hem.TamH929,and all their flocksמִקְנֵהֶ֛םmik.ne.HemH4735,and all their goodsחֵילָ֖םchei.LamH2428.

10And they burntשָׂרְפ֖וּsa.re.FuH8313all their citiesעָרֵיהֶם֙'a.rei.HemH5892wherein they dweltבְּמ֣וֹשְׁבֹתָ֔םbe.Mo.o.she.vo.TamH4186,and all their goodly castlesטִֽירֹתָ֑םti.ro.TamH2918,with fireבָּאֵֽשׁ׃ba.'EshH784.

11And they tookוַיִּקְחוּ֙vai.yik.ChuH3947all the spoilהַשָּׁלָ֔לha.sha.LalH7998,and all the preyהַמַּלְק֑וֹחַha.mal.Ko.achH4455, bothof menבָּאָדָ֖םba.'a.DamH120and of beastsוּבַבְּהֵמָֽה׃u.va.be.he.MahH929.

12And they broughtוַיָּבִ֡אוּvai.ya.Vi.'uH935the captivesהַשְּׁבִ֧יha.she.ViH7628,and the preyהַמַּלְק֛וֹחַha.mal.Ko.achH4455,and the spoilהַשָּׁלָ֖לha.sha.LalH7998,unto Mosesמֹשֶׁה֩mo.ShehH4872,and Eleazarאֶלְעָזָ֨ר'el.'a.ZarH499the priestהַכֹּהֵ֜ןha.ko.HenH3548,and unto the congregationעֲדַ֣ת'a.DatH5712of the childrenבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478,unto the campהַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑הha.ma.cha.NehH4264at the plainsעַֽרְבֹ֣ת'ar.VotH6160of Moabמוֹאָ֔בmo.'AvH4124, which areby Jordanיַרְדֵּ֥ןyar.DenH3383nearJerichoיְרֵחֽוֹ׃ סye.re.ChoH3405.

14And Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872was wrothוַיִּקְצֹ֣ףvai.yik.TzofH7107with the officersפְּקוּדֵ֣יpe.ku.DeiH6485of the hostהֶחָ֑יִלhe.Cha.yilH2428, withthe captainsשָׂרֵ֤יsa.ReiH8269over thousandsהָאֲלָפִים֙ha.'a.la.FimH505,and captainsוְשָׂרֵ֣יve.sa.ReiH8269over hundredsהַמֵּא֔וֹתha.me.'otH3967,which cameהַבָּאִ֖יםha.ba.'ImH935fromמִצְּבָ֥אmi.tze.Va'H6635the battleהַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ha.mil.cha.MahH4421.

15And Mosesמֹשֶׁ֑הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto them, Have ye savedH2421all the womenנְקֵבָֽה׃ne.ke.VahH5347aliveH2421?

16Behold, theseהֵ֜נָּהHe.nahH2007causedH1961the childrenלִבְנֵ֤יliv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478,through the counselבִּדְבַ֣רbid.VarH1697of Balaamבִּלְעָ֔םbil.'AmH1109,to commitלִמְסָר־lim.sor-H4560trespassמַ֥עַלMa.'alH4604against the Lordבַּיהוָ֖הba.Yah.wehH3068in the matterדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of Peorפְּע֑וֹרpe.'orH6465,and there was a plagueהַמַּגֵּפָ֖הha.ma.ge.FahH4046among the congregationבַּעֲדַ֥תba.'a.DatH5712of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

17Now therefore killהִרְג֥וּhir.GuH2026every maleזָכָ֖רza.KharH2145among the little onesבַּטָּ֑ףba.TafH2945,and killהֲרֹֽגוּ׃ha.Ro.guH2026every womanאִשָּׁ֗ה'i.ShahH802that hath knownיֹדַ֥עַתyo.Da.'atH3045manאִ֛ישׁ'ishH376by lyingלְמִשְׁכַּ֥בle.mish.KavH4904with himזָכָ֖רza.KharH2145.

18But all the womenבַּנָּשִׁ֔יםba.na.ShimH802childrenהַטַּ֣ףha.TafH2945,that have not knownיָדְע֖וּya.de.'UH3045a manזָכָ֑רza.KharH2145by lyingמִשְׁכַּ֣בmish.KavH4904with him, keep aliveהַחֲי֖וּha.cha.YuH2421for yourselves.
