29Wherefore will ye pleadתָרִ֖יבוּta.Ri.vuH7378with me? ye all have transgressedפְּשַׁעְתֶּ֥םpe.sha'.TemH6586against me, saithנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

30In vainלַשָּׁוְא֙la.shaV'H7723have I smittenהִכֵּ֣יתִיhi.Kei.tiH5221your childrenבְּנֵיכֶ֔םbe.nei.KhemH1121;they receivedלָקָ֑חוּla.Ka.chuH3947no correctionמוּסָ֖רmu.SarH4148:your own swordחַרְבְּכֶ֛םchar.be.KhemH2719hath devouredאָכְלָ֧ה'a.khe.LahH398your prophetsנְבִֽיאֵיכֶ֖םne.vi.'ei.KhemH5030,like a destroyingמַשְׁחִֽית׃mash.ChitH7843lionכְּאַרְיֵ֥הke.'ar.YehH738.

31O generationהַדּ֗וֹרha.DorH1755,seeרְא֣וּre.'UH7200ye the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068.Have I been a wildernessהֲמִדְבָּ֤רha.mid.BarH4057unto Israelלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לle.Yis.ra.'ElH3478?a landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of darknessמַאְפֵּ֖לְיָ֑הma'.Pe.le.YahH3991?wherefore sayאָמְר֤וּ'a.me.RuH559my peopleעַמִּי֙'a.MiH5971,We are lordsרַ֔דְנוּRad.nuH7300;we will comeנָב֥וֹאna.Vo'H935no more unto thee?

32Can a maidבְּתוּלָה֙be.tu.LahH1330forgetהֲתִשְׁכַּ֤חha.tish.KachH7911her ornamentsעֶדְיָ֔הּ'ed.YahH5716, ora brideכַּלָּ֖הka.LahH3618her attireקִשֻּׁרֶ֑יהָki.shu.Rei.haH7196?yet my peopleוְעַמִּ֣יve.'a.MiH5971have forgottenשְׁכֵח֔וּנִיshe.khe.Chu.niH7911me daysיָמִ֖יםya.MimH3117without numberמִסְפָּֽר׃mis.ParH4557.

33Why trimmestתֵּיטִ֥בִיtei.Ti.viH3190thou thy wayדַּרְכֵּ֖ךְdar.KekhH1870to seekלְבַקֵּ֣שׁle.va.KeshH1245loveאַהֲבָ֑ה'a.ha.VahH160?therefore hast thou also taughtלִמַּ֖דְתְּli.mad.tiH3925the wicked onesהָרָע֔וֹתha.ra.'otH7451thy waysדְּרָכָֽיִךְ׃de.ra.Kha.yikhH1870.

34Also in thy skirtsבִּכְנָפַ֙יִךְ֙bikh.na.Fa.yikhH3671is foundנִמְצְא֔וּnim.tze.'UH4672the bloodדַּ֛םdamH1818of the soulsנַפְשׁ֥וֹתnaf.ShotH5315of the poorאֶבְיוֹנִ֖ים'ev.yo.NimH34innocentsנְקִיִּ֑יםne.ki.YimH5355:I have not foundמְצָאתִ֖יםme.tza.TimH4672it by secret searchבַמַּחְתֶּ֥רֶתva.mach.Te.retH4290, but upon all these.

35Yet thou sayestוַתֹּֽאמְרִי֙va.to.me.RiH559,Because I am innocentנִקֵּ֔יתִיni.Kei.tiH5352,surely his angerאַפּ֖וֹ'a.PoH639shall turnשָׁ֥בshavH7725from me. Behold, I will pleadנִשְׁפָּ֣טnish.PatH8199with thee, because thou sayestאָמְרֵ֖ךְ'a.me.RekhH559,I have not sinnedחָטָֽאתִי׃cha.Ta.tiH2398.

36Why gaddest thou aboutתֵּזְלִ֥יte.ze.LiH235so muchמְאֹ֖דme.'OdH3966to changeלְשַׁנּ֣וֹתle.sha.NotH8138thy wayדַּרְכֵּ֑ךְdar.KekhH1870?thou also shalt be ashamedתֵּב֔וֹשִׁיte.Vo.o.shiH954of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֙יִם֙mi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,as thou wast ashamedבֹּ֖שְׁתְּBo.shetH954of Assyriaמֵאַשּֽׁוּר׃me.'a.ShurH804.

37Yea, thou shalt go forthתֵּֽצְאִ֔יte.tze.'IH3318from him, and thine handsוְיָדַ֖יִךְve.ya.Da.yikhH3027upon thine headרֹאשֵׁ֑ךְro.ShekhH7218:for the Lordיְהֹוָה֙Yah.wehH3068hath rejectedמָאַ֤סma.'AsH3988thy confidencesבְּמִבְטַחַ֔יִךְbe.miv.ta.Cha.yikhH4009,and thou shalt not prosperתַצְלִ֖יחִיtatz.Li.chiH6743in them.
