1Hearשִׁמְע֣וּshim.'UH8085ye the wordהַדָּבָ֗רha.da.VarH1697which the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068speakethדִּבֶּ֧רdi.BerH1696unto you, O houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478:

2Thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,Learnתִּלְמָ֔דוּtil.Ma.duH3925not the wayדֶּ֤רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of the heathenהַגּוֹיִם֙ha.go.YimH1471,and be not dismayedתֵּחָ֑תּוּte.Cha.tuH2865at the signsוּמֵאֹת֥וֹתu.me.'o.TotH226of heavenהַשָּׁמַ֖יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064;for the heathenהַגּוֹיִ֖םha.go.YimH1471are dismayedיֵחַ֥תּוּye.Cha.tuH2865at themH1992.

3For the customsחֻקּ֥וֹתchu.KotH2708of the peopleהָֽעַמִּ֖יםha.'a.MimH5971arevainהֶ֣בֶלHe.velH1892: for onecuttethכְּרָת֔וֹke.ra.ToH3772a treeעֵץ֙'etzH6086out of the forestמִיַּ֣עַרmi.Ya.'arH3293,the workמַעֲשֵׂ֥הma.'a.SehH4639of the handsיְדֵ֥י־ye.Dei-H3027of the workmanחָרָ֖שׁcha.RashH2796,with the axeבַּֽמַּעֲצָֽד׃Ba.ma.'a.TzadH4621.

4They deckיְיַפֵּ֑הוּye.ya.Pe.huH3302it with silverבְּכֶ֥סֶףbe.Khe.sefH3701and with goldוּבְזָהָ֖בu.ve.za.HavH2091;they fastenיְחַזְּק֖וּםye.cha.ze.KumH2388it with nailsבְּמַסְמְר֧וֹתbe.mas.me.RotH4548and with hammersוּבְמַקָּב֛וֹתu.ve.ma.ka.VotH4717,that it moveיָפִֽיק׃ya.FikH6328not.

5They areuprightH4749as the palm treeכְּתֹ֨מֶרke.To.merH8560,but speakיְדַבֵּ֔רוּye.da.Be.ruH1696not: they must needsנָשׂ֥וֹאna.So'H5375be borneיִנָּשׂ֖וּאyi.na.Su'H5375,because they cannot goיִצְעָ֑דוּyitz.'A.duH6805.Be not afraidתִּֽירְא֤וּti.re.'UH3372of them; for they cannot do evilיָרֵ֔עוּya.Re.'uH7489, neither also is itin them to do goodהֵיטֵ֖יבhei.TeivH3190.

6Forasmuch as there isnone like unto thee, O Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068; thou artgreatגָּד֥וֹלga.DolH1419,and thy nameשִׁמְךָ֖shim.KhaH8034isgreatוְגָד֥וֹלve.ga.DolH1419in mightבִּגְבוּרָֽה׃big.vu.RahH1369.

7Who would not fearיִֽרָאֲךָ֙yi.ra.'a.KhaH3372thee, O Kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471?for to thee doth it appertainיָאָ֑תָהya.'A.tahH2969:forasmuch as among all the wiseחַכְמֵ֧יchakh.MeiH2450menof the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֛םha.go.YimH1471,and in all their kingdomsמַלְכוּתָ֖םmal.khu.TamH4438, there is none like unto thee.

8But they are altogetherוּבְאַחַ֖תu.ve.'a.ChatH259brutishיִבְעֲר֣וּyiv.'a.RuH1197and foolishוְיִכְסָ֑לוּve.yikh.Sa.luH3688:the stockעֵ֥ץ'etzH6086isa doctrineמוּסַ֥רmu.SarH4148of vanitiesהֲבָלִ֖יםha.va.LimH1892.

9Silverכֶּ֣סֶףKe.sefH3701spread into platesמְרֻקָּ֞עme.ru.Ka'H7554is broughtיוּבָ֗אyu.Va'H935from Tarshishמִתַּרְשִׁ֣ישׁmi.tar.ShishH8659,and goldוְזָהָב֙ve.za.HavH2091from Uphazמֵֽאוּפָ֔זme.'u.FazH210,the workמַעֲשֵׂ֥הma.'a.SehH4639of the workmanחָרָ֖שׁcha.RashH2796,and of the handsוִידֵ֣יvi.DeiH3027of the founderצוֹרֵ֑ףtzo.RefH6884:blueתְּכֵ֤לֶתte.Khe.letH8504and purpleוְאַרְגָּמָן֙ve.'ar.ga.ManH713istheir clothingלְבוּשָׁ֔םle.vu.ShamH3830: they areall the workמַעֲשֵׂ֥הma.'a.SehH4639of cunningחֲכָמִ֖יםcha.kha.MimH2450men.
