1Now therefore hearkenשְׁמַ֤עshe.Ma'H8085,O Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478,unto the statutesהַֽחֻקִּים֙ha.chu.KimH2706and unto the judgmentsהַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֔יםha.mish.pa.TimH4941,which I teachמְלַמֵּ֥דme.la.MedH3925you, for to doלַעֲשׂ֑וֹתla.'a.SotH6213them,that ye may liveתִּֽחְי֗וּtich.YuH2421,and go inוּבָאתֶם֙u.va.TemH935and possessוִֽירִשְׁתֶּ֣םvi.rish.TemH3423the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776which the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of your fathersאֲבֹתֵיכֶ֖ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1givethנֹתֵ֥ןno.TenH5414you.
2Ye shall not addתֹסִ֗פוּto.Si.fuH3254unto the wordהַדָּבָר֙ha.da.VarH1697which I commandמְצַוֶּ֣הme.tza.VehH6680you, neither shall ye diminishתִגְרְע֖וּtig.re.'UH1639oughtfrom it, that ye may keepלִשְׁמֹ֗רlish.MorH8104the commandmentsמִצְוֹת֙mitz.VotH4687of the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430which I commandמְצַוֶּ֥הme.tza.VehH6680you.
3Your eyesעֵֽינֵיכֶם֙'ei.nei.KhemH5869have seenהָֽרֹאֹ֔תha.ro.'OtH7200what the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068didעָשָׂ֥ה'a.SahH6213because of Baal–peorH1187:for all the menהָאִ֗ישׁha.'IshH376that followedהָלַךְ֙ אַחֲרֵ֣יha.laKh 'a.cha.ReiH1980H310Baal–peorH1187,the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430hath destroyedהִשְׁמִיד֛וֹhish.mi.DoH8045them from amongמִקִּרְבֶּֽךָ׃mi.kir.Be.chaH7130you.
5Beholdרְאֵ֣ה׀re.'EhH7200,I have taughtלִמַּ֣דְתִּיli.Mad.tiH3925you statutesחֻקִּים֙chu.KimH2706and judgmentsוּמִשְׁפָּטִ֔יםu.mish.pa.TimH4941,even asH834the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068my Godאֱלֹהָ֑י'e.lo.HaiH430commandedצִוַּ֖נִיtzi.Va.niH6680me, that ye should doלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213so inבְּקֶ֣רֶבbe.Ke.revH7130the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776whither ye goבָּאִ֥יםba.'ImH935to possessלְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃le.rish.TahH3423it.
6Keepוּשְׁמַרְתֶּם֮u.she.mar.TemH8104therefore and doוַעֲשִׂיתֶם֒va.'a.si.TemH6213them; for this isyour wisdomחָכְמַתְכֶם֙cha.khe.mat.KhemH2451and your understandingוּבִ֣ינַתְכֶ֔םu.Vi.nat.KhemH998in the sightלְעֵינֵ֖יle.'ei.NeiH5869of the nationsהָעַמִּ֑יםha.'a.MimH5971,which shall hearיִשְׁמְע֗וּןyish.me.'UnH8085all these statutesהַחֻקִּ֣יםha.chu.KimH2706,and sayוְאָמְר֗וּve.'a.me.RuH559,Surely this greatהַגָּד֖וֹלha.ga.DolH1419nationהַגּ֥וֹיha.GoyH1471isa wiseחָכָ֣םcha.KhamH2450and understandingוְנָב֔וֹןve.na.VonH995peopleעַם־'am-H5971.

9Only take heedהִשָּׁ֣מֶרhi.Sha.merH8104to thyself, and keepוּשְׁמֹ֨רu.she.MorH8104thy soulנַפְשְׁךָ֜naf.she.KhaH5315diligentlyמְאֹ֗דme.'OdH3966,lest thou forgetתִּשְׁכַּ֨חtish.KachH7911the thingsהַדְּבָרִ֜יםha.de.va.RimH1697which thine eyesעֵינֶ֗יךָ'ei.Nei.khaH5869have seenרָא֣וּra.'UH7200,and lest they departיָס֙וּרוּ֙ya.Su.ruH5493from thy heartמִלְּבָ֣בְךָ֔mi.le.Va.ve.khaH3824all the daysיְמֵ֣יye.MeiH3117of thy lifeחַיֶּ֑יךָchai.Yei.khaH2416:but teachוְהוֹדַעְתָּ֥םve.ho.da'.TamH3045them thy sonsלְבָנֶ֖יךָle.va.Nei.khaH1121,and thy sons’וְלִבְנֵ֥יve.liv.NeiH1121sonsבָנֶֽיךָ׃va.Nei.khaH1121;
10Speciallythe dayי֗וֹםYomH3117that thou stoodestעָמַ֜דְתָּ'a.Mad.taH5975beforeלִפְנֵ֨יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶיךָ֮'e.lo.hei.KhaH430in Horebבְּחֹרֵב֒be.cho.RevH2722,when the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidבֶּאֱמֹ֨רbe.'e.MorH559unto me, GatherH6950me the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971togetherH6950,and I will make them hearוְאַשְׁמִעֵ֖םve.'ash.mi.'EmH8085my wordsדְּבָרָ֑יde.va.RaiH1697,that they may learnיִלְמְד֜וּןyil.me.DunH3925to fearלְיִרְאָ֣הle.yir.'AhH3372me all the daysהַיָּמִים֙hai.ya.MimH3117that they shall liveחַיִּים֙chai.YimH2416upon the earthהָ֣אֲדָמָ֔הha.'a.da.MahH127, and thatthey may teachיְלַמֵּדֽוּן׃ye.la.me.DunH3925their childrenבְּנֵיהֶ֖םbe.nei.HemH1121.
11And ye came nearוַתִּקְרְב֥וּןva.tik.re.VunH7126and stoodוַתַּֽעַמְד֖וּןva.ta.'am.DunH5975under the mountainהָהָ֑רha.HarH2022;and the mountainוְהָהָ֞רve.ha.HarH2022burnedבֹּעֵ֤רbo.'ErH1197with fireבָּאֵשׁ֙ba.'EshH784unto the midstלֵ֣בlevH3820of heavenהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064,with darknessוַעֲרָפֶֽל׃va.'a.ra.FelH6205,cloudsעָנָ֥ן'a.NanH6051,and thick darknessחֹ֖שֶׁךְCho.shekhH2822.
12And the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068spakeוַיְדַבֵּ֧רvay.da.BerH1696unto you out of the midstמִתּ֣וֹךְmi.TokhH8432of the fireהָאֵ֑שׁha.'EshH784:ye heardשֹׁמְעִ֔יםsho.me.'ImH8085the voiceק֤וֹלKolH6963of the wordsדְּבָרִים֙de.va.RimH1697,but sawרֹאִ֖יםro.'ImH7200no similitudeוּתְמוּנָ֛הu.te.mu.NahH8544;onlyזוּלָתִ֥יzu.la.TiH2108ye hearda voiceקֽוֹל׃KolH6963.
13And he declaredוַיַּגֵּ֨דvai.ya.GedH5046unto you his covenantבְּרִית֗וֹbe.ri.ToH1285,which he commandedצִוָּ֤הtzi.VahH6680you to performלַעֲשׂ֔וֹתla.'a.SotH6213, eventenעֲשֶׂ֖רֶת'a.Se.retH6235commandmentsהַדְּבָרִ֑יםha.de.va.RimH1697;and he wroteוַֽיִּכְתְּבֵ֔םvai.yikh.te.VemH3789them upon twoשְׁנֵ֖יshe.NeiH8147tablesלֻח֥וֹתlu.ChotH3871of stoneאֲבָנִֽים׃'a.va.NimH68.
14And the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֤הtzi.VahH6680me at that timeבָּעֵ֣תba.'EtH6256to teachלְלַמֵּ֣דle.la.MedH3925you statutesחֻקִּ֖יםchu.KimH2706and judgmentsוּמִשְׁפָּטִ֑יםu.mish.pa.TimH4941,that ye might doלַעֲשֹׂתְכֶ֣םla.'a.so.te.KhemH6213them in the landבָּאָ֕רֶץba.'A.retzH776whither ye go overעֹבְרִ֥ים'oe.RimH5674to possessלְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃le.rish.TahH3423it.
15Take ye therefore goodמְאֹ֖דme.'OdH3966heedוְנִשְׁמַרְתֶּ֥םve.nish.mar.TemH8104unto yourselvesלְנַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶ֑םle.naf.sho.tei.KhemH5315;for ye sawרְאִיתֶם֙re.'i.TemH7200no manner of similitudeתְּמוּנָ֔הte.mu.NahH8544on the dayבְּי֗וֹםbe.YomH3117thatthe Lordיְהוָ֧הYah.wehH3068spakeדִּבֶּ֨רdi.BerH1696unto you in Horebבְּחֹרֵ֖בbe.cho.RevH2722out of the midstמִתּ֥וֹךְmi.TokhH8432of the fireהָאֵֽשׁ׃ha.'EshH784:
19And lest thou lift upתִּשָּׂ֨אti.Sa'H5375thine eyesעֵינֶ֜יךָ'ei.Nei.khaH5869unto heavenהַשָּׁמַ֗יְמָהha.sha.May.mahH8064,and when thou seestוְֽ֠רָאִיתָVe.ra.'i.taH7200the sunהַשֶּׁ֨מֶשׁha.She.meshH8121,and the moonהַיָּרֵ֜חַhai.ya.Re.achH3394,and the starsהַכּֽוֹכָבִ֗יםha.ko.kha.VimH3556, evenall the hostצְבָ֣אtze.Va'H6635of heavenהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064,shouldest be drivenוְנִדַּחְתָּ֛ve.ni.dach.TaH5080to worshipוְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִ֥יתָve.hish.ta.cha.Vi.taH7812them, and serveוַעֲבַדְתָּ֑םva.'a.vad.TamH5647them, which the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430hath dividedחָלַ֜קcha.LakH2505unto all nationsהָֽעַמִּ֔יםha.'a.MimH5971under the whole heavenהַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ha.sha.Ma.yimH8064.
20But the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068hath takenלָקַ֣חla.KachH3947you, and brought you forthוַיּוֹצִ֥אvai.yo.Tzi'H3318out of the ironהַבַּרְזֶ֖לha.bar.ZelH1270furnaceמִכּ֥וּרmi.KurH3564, evenout of Egyptמִמִּצְרָ֑יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,to be unto him a peopleלְעַ֥םle.'AmH5971of inheritanceנַחֲלָ֖הna.cha.LahH5159, as ye arethis dayכַּיּ֥וֹםkai.YomH3117.
21Furthermore the Lordוַֽיהוָ֥הva.Yah.wehH3068was angryהִתְאַנֶּף־hit.'a.nef-H599with me for your sakesדִּבְרֵיכֶ֑םdiv.rei.KhemH1697,and swareוַיִּשָּׁבַ֗עvai.yi.sha.Va'H7650that I should not go overעָבְרִי֙'a.ve.RiH5674Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֔ןhai.yar.DenH3383,and that I should not goבֹא֙vo'H935in unto that goodהַטּוֹבָ֔הha.to.VahH2896landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776,which the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430givethנֹתֵ֥ןno.TenH5414thee foran inheritanceנַחֲלָֽה׃na.cha.LahH5159:
23Take heedהִשָּׁמְר֣וּhi.sha.me.RuH8104unto yourselves, lest ye forgetתִּשְׁכְּחוּ֙tish.ke.ChuH7911the covenantבְּרִ֤יתbe.RitH1285of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹ֣הֵיכֶ֔ם'e.Lo.hei.KhemH430,which he madeכָּרַ֖תka.RatH3772with you, and makeוַעֲשִׂיתֶ֨םva.'a.si.TemH6213you a graven imageפֶּ֙סֶל֙pe.selH6459, orthe likenessתְּמ֣וּנַתte.Mu.natH8544of anyכֹּ֔לKolH3605thing,which the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃'e.lo.Hei.khaH430hath forbiddenצִוְּךָ֖tzi.ve.KhaH6680thee.
25When thou shalt begetתוֹלִ֤ידto.LidH3205childrenבָּנִים֙ba.NimH1121,and children’sוּבְנֵ֣יu.ve.NeiH1121childrenבָנִ֔יםva.NimH1121,and ye shall have remained longוְנוֹשַׁנְתֶּ֖םve.no.shan.TemH3462in the landבָּאָ֑רֶץba.'A.retzH776,and shall corruptוְהִשְׁחַתֶּ֗םve.hish.cha.TemH7843yourselves,and makeוַעֲשִׂ֤יתֶםva.'a.Si.temH6213a graven imageפֶּ֙סֶל֙pe.selH6459, orthe likenessתְּמ֣וּנַתte.Mu.natH8544of any thing,and shall doוַעֲשִׂיתֶ֥םva.'a.si.TemH6213evilהָרַ֛עha.Ra'H7451in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֥יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָֽה־Yah.weh-H3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430,to provoke him to angerלְהַכְעִיסֽוֹ׃le.hakh.'i.SoH3707:
26I callהַעִידֹתִי֩ha.'i.do.TiH5749heavenהַשָּׁמַ֣יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064and earthהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776to witnessH5749against you this dayהַיּ֜וֹםhai.YomH3117,that ye shall soonמַהֵר֒ma.HerH4118utterlyאָבֹ֣ד'a.VodH6perishתֹּאבֵדוּן֮toe.DunH6from off the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776whereunto ye go overעֹבְרִ֧ים'oe.RimH5674Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֛ןhai.yar.DenH3383to possessלְרִשְׁתָּ֑הּle.rish.TahH3423it; ye shall not prolongתַאֲרִיכֻ֤ןta.'a.ri.KhunH748yourdaysיָמִים֙ya.MimH3117upon it, but shall utterlyהִשָּׁמֵ֖דhi.sha.MedH8045be destroyedתִּשָּׁמֵדֽוּן׃ti.sha.me.DunH8045.
27And the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068shall scatterוְהֵפִ֧יץve.he.FitzH6327you among the nationsבָּעַמִּ֑יםba.'a.MimH5971,and ye shall be leftוְנִשְׁאַרְתֶּם֙ve.nish.'ar.TemH7604fewמְתֵ֣יme.TeiH4962in numberמִסְפָּ֔רmis.ParH4557among the heathenבַּגּוֹיִ֕םba.go.YimH1471,whither the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068shall leadיְנַהֵ֧גye.na.HegH5090you.
28And there ye shall serveוַעֲבַדְתֶּם־va.'a.vad.tem-H5647godsאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430,the workמַעֲשֵׂ֖הma.'a.SehH4639of men’sאָדָ֑ם'a.DamH120handsיְדֵ֣יye.DeiH3027,woodעֵ֣ץ'etzH6086and stoneוָאֶ֔בֶןva.'E.venH68,which neither seeיִרְאוּן֙yir.'UnH7200,nor hearיִשְׁמְע֔וּןyish.me.'UnH8085,nor eatיֹֽאכְל֖וּןyokh.LunH398,nor smellיְרִיחֻֽן׃ye.ri.ChunH7306.
29But if from thence thou shalt seekוּבִקַּשְׁתֶּ֥םu.vi.kash.TemH1245the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430,thou shalt findוּמָצָ֑אתָu.ma.Tza.taH4672him,if thou seekתִדְרְשֶׁ֔נּוּtid.re.She.nuH1875him with all thy heartלְבָבְךָ֖le.va.ve.KhaH3824and with all thy soulנַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃naf.She.khaH5315.
30When thou art in tribulationבַּצַּ֣רba.TzarH6862,and all these thingsהַדְּבָרִ֣יםha.de.va.RimH1697are comeוּמְצָא֕וּךָu.me.tza.'U.khaH4672upon thee, evenin the latterבְּאַחֲרִית֙be.'a.cha.RitH319daysהַיָּמִ֔יםhai.ya.MimH3117,if thou turnוְשַׁבְתָּ֙ve.shav.TaH7725to the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430,and shalt be obedientוְשָׁמַעְתָּ֖ve.sha.ma'.TaH8085unto his voiceבְּקֹלֽוֹ׃be.ko.LoH6963;
31(For the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430isa mercifulרַחוּם֙ra.ChumH7349Godאֵ֤ל'elH410;)he will not forsakeיַרְפְּךָ֖yar.pe.KhaH7503thee, neither destroyיַשְׁחִיתֶ֑ךָyash.chi.Te.khaH7843thee, nor forgetיִשְׁכַּח֙yish.KachH7911the covenantבְּרִ֣יתbe.RitH1285of thy fathersאֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ'a.vo.Tei.khaH1which he swareנִשְׁבַּ֖עnish.Ba'H7650unto them.
32For askשְׁאַל־she.'al-H7592now of the daysלְיָמִ֨יםle.ya.MimH3117that are pastרִֽאשֹׁנִ֜יםri.sho.NimH7223,which wereH1961beforeלְפָנֶ֗יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440thee, since the dayהַיּוֹם֙hai.yoMH3117that Godאֱלֹהִ֤ים׀'E.lo.HimH430createdבָּרָ֨אba.Ra'H1254manאָדָם֙'a.DamH120upon the earthהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776, and askfrom the one sideH7097of heavenH8064unto the other, whether there hath been any such thingas this greatהַגָּדוֹל֙ha.ga.doLH1419thingכַּדָּבָ֤רka.da.VarH1697is,or hath been heardהֲנִשְׁמַ֥עha.nish.Ma'H8085like it?
34Or hath Godאֱלֹהִ֗ים'E.lo.HimH430assayedהֲנִסָּ֣הha.ni.SahH5254to goלָ֠בוֹאLa.Vo'H935andtakeלָקַ֨חַתla.Ka.chatH3947him a nationגוֹי֮goyH1471from the midstמִקֶּ֣רֶבmi.Ke.revH7130of anothernationגּוֹי֒goyH1471,by temptationsבְּמַסֹּת֩be.ma.SotH4531,by signsבְּאֹתֹ֨תbe.'o.TotH226,and by wondersוּבְמוֹפְתִ֜יםu.ve.mof.TimH4159,and by warוּבְמִלְחָמָ֗הu.ve.mil.cha.MahH4421,and by a mightyחֲזָקָה֙cha.za.KahH2389handוּבְיָ֤דu.ve.YadH3027,and by a stretched outנְטוּיָ֔הne.tu.YahH5186armוּבִזְר֣וֹעַu.viz.Ro.a'H2220,and by greatגְּדֹלִ֑יםge.do.LimH1419terrorsוּבְמוֹרָאִ֖יםu.ve.mo.ra.'ImH4172,according to all that the Lordיְהוָ֧הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶ֛ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430didעָשָׂ֨ה'a.SahH6213for you in Egyptבְּמִצְרַ֖יִםbe.mitz.Ra.yimH4714before your eyesלְעֵינֶֽיךָ׃le.'ei.Nei.khaH5869?
36Out of heavenהַשָּׁמַ֛יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064he made thee to hearהִשְׁמִֽיעֲךָ֥hish.mi.'a.KhaH8085his voiceקֹל֖וֹko.LoH6963,that he might instructלְיַסְּרֶ֑ךָּle.ya.se.Re.kaH3256thee: and upon earthהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776he shewedהֶרְאֲךָ֙her.'a.KhaH7200thee his greatהַגְּדוֹלָ֔הha.ge.do.LahH1419fireאִשּׁ֣וֹ'i.ShoH784;and thou heardestשָׁמַ֖עְתָּsha.Ma'.taH8085his wordsוּדְבָרָ֥יוu.de.va.RavH1697out of the midstמִתּ֥וֹךְmi.TokhH8432of the fireהָאֵֽשׁ׃ha.'EshH784.

38To drive outלְהוֹרִ֗ישׁle.ho.RishH3423nationsגּוֹיִ֛םgo.YimH1471from beforeמִפָּנֶ֑יךָmi.pa.Nei.khaH6440thee greaterגְּדֹלִ֧יםge.do.LimH1419and mightierוַעֲצֻמִ֛יםva.'a.tzu.MimH6099than thou art,to bringלַהֲבִֽיאֲךָ֗la.ha.vi.'a.KhaH935thee in, to giveלָֽתֶת־la.tet-H5414thee their landאַרְצָ֛ם'ar.TzamH776foran inheritanceנַחֲלָ֖הna.cha.LahH5159, as it isthis dayכַּיּ֥וֹםkai.YomH3117.
