Judgment on Israel and Judah
1“HearH8085 thisH2063, O priestsH3548! Take heedH7181, O houseH1004 of IsraelH3478! Give earH238, O royalH4428 houseH1004! ForH3588 this judgmentH4941 is against you becauseH3588 you have beenH1961 a snareH6341 at MizpahH4709, a netH7568 spread outH6566 onH5921 TaborH8396.2The rebelsH7846 are deepH6009 in slaughterH7819; but IH589 will chastise themH4148 allH3605.3IH589 know all aboutH3045 EphraimH669,1 and IsraelH3478 is notH3808 hiddenH3582 from MeH4480. ForH3588 nowH6258, O EphraimH669, you have turned to prostitutionH2181; IsraelH3478 is defiledH2930.
4Their deedsH4611 do notH3808 permit themH5414to returnH7725 toH413 their GodH430,forH3588 a spiritH7307 of prostitutionH2183 is within themH7130,and they do notH3808 knowH3045 the LORDH3068.5Israel’sH3478 arroganceH1347 testifiesH6030 against themH6440;IsraelH3478 and EphraimH669 stumbleH3782 in their iniquityH5771;evenH1571 JudahH3063 stumblesH3782 with themH5973.6They goH1980 with their flocksH6629 and herdsH1241to seekH1245 the LORDH3068,but they do notH3808 find HimH4672;He has withdrawn HimselfH2502 from them.7They have been unfaithfulH898 to the LORDH3068;forH3588 they have borneH3205 illegitimateH2114 childrenH1121.NowH6258 the New MoonH2320H8542 will devour themH398along with their landH2506.
8BlowH8628 the ram’s hornH7782 in GibeahH1390,the trumpetH2689 in RamahH7414;raise the battle cryH7321 in Beth-avenH1007:3Lead onH310, O BenjaminH1144!9EphraimH669 will beH1961 laid wasteH8047on the dayH3117 of rebukeH8433.Among the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478I proclaimH3045 what is certainH539.10The princesH8269 of JudahH3063are like thoseH1961 who moveH5253 boundary stonesH1366;4I will pour outH8210 My furyH5678upon themH5921 like waterH4325.11EphraimH669 is oppressedH6231, crushedH7533 in judgmentH4941,forH3588 he is determinedH2974 to followH1980H310 worthless idolsH6673.512So I amH589 like a mothH6211 to EphraimH669,and like decayH7538 to the houseH1004 of JudahH3063.
13When EphraimH669 sawH7200 his sicknessH2483and JudahH3063 his woundH4205,then EphraimH669 turnedH1980 toH413 AssyriaH804and sentH7971 toH413 the greatH3377 kingH4428.6But heH1931 cannotH3808H3201 cureH7495 youor healH1455 your woundH4205.14ForH3588 IH595 am like a lionH7826 to EphraimH669and like a young lionH3715 to the houseH1004 of JudahH3063.IH589, even IH589, will tear them to piecesH2963and then go awayH1980.I will carry them offH5375where no oneH369 can rescue themH5337.15Then I will returnH1980H7725 toH413 My placeH4725untilH5704 they admit their guiltH816 and seekH1245 My faceH6440;in their afflictionH6862 they will earnestly seek MeH7836.”
