Israel’s Punishment

Do notH408 rejoiceH8055, O IsraelH3478, withH413 exultationH1524 like the nationsH5971, forH3588 you have played the harlotH2181 againstH5921 your GodH430; you have made loveH157 for hireH868 onH5921 everyH3605 threshing floorH1637 H1715.2The threshing floorH1637 and winepressH3342 will notH3808 feed themH7462, and the new wineH8492 will fail themH3584.3They will notH3808 remainH3427 in the landH776 of the LORDH3068; EphraimH669 1 will returnH7725 to EgyptH4714 and eatH398 unclean foodH2931 in AssyriaH804.

They will notH3808 pour outH5258 wineH3196 offerings to the LORDH3068,and their sacrificesH2077 will notH3808 pleaseH6149 Him,but will be to them like the breadH3899 of mournersH205;allH3605 who eatH398 will be defiledH2930.ForH3588 their breadH3899 will be for themselvesH5315;it will notH3808 enterH935 the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068.5WhatH4100 will you doH6213 on the appointedH4150 dayH3117,on the dayH3117 of the LORD’sH3068 feastH2282?6ForH3588 even ifH2009 they fleeH1980 destructionH7701,EgyptH4714 will gather themH6908and MemphisH4644 will bury themH6912.Their preciousH4261 silverH3701 will be taken overH3423 by thistlesH7057,and thornsH2336 will overrun their tentsH168.

The daysH3117 of punishmentH6486 have comeH935;the daysH3117 of retributionH7966 have arrivedH935—let IsraelH3478 know itH3045.The prophetH5030 is called a foolH191,and the inspiredH7307 manH376 insaneH7696,because ofH5921 the greatnessH7230of your iniquityH5771 H7227 and hostilityH4895.8The prophetH5030 is Ephraim’sH669 watchmanH6822,along withH5973 my GodH430,2yet the snareH6341 of the fowlerH3352 lies onH5921 allH3605 his pathsH1870.HostilityH4895 is in the houseH1004 of his GodH430!9They have deeplyH6009 corrupted themselvesH7843as in the daysH3117 of GibeahH1390;He will rememberH2142 their guiltH5771;He will punishH6485 their sinsH2403.

I foundH4672 IsraelH3478 like grapesH6025 in the wildernessH4057.I sawH7200 your fathersH1 as the firstfruitsH1063of the fig treeH8384 in its first seasonH7225.But theyH1992 wentH935 to Baal-peorH1187,and consecratedH5144 themselves to ShameH1322;so they becameH1961 as detestableH8251as the thing they lovedH157.11Ephraim’sH669 gloryH3519 will fly awayH5774 like a birdH5775,with no birthH3205, no pregnancyH990, and no conceptionH2032.12EvenH3588 ifH518 they raiseH1431 their childrenH1121,I will bereave themH7921 of each oneH120.YesH3588 H1571, woeH188 be to themwhen I turn awayH5493 from them!13I have seenH7200 EphraimH669, likeH834 TyreH6865,plantedH8362 in a meadowH5116.But EphraimH669 will bring outH3318his childrenH1121 for slaughterH2026.14GiveH5414 them, O LORDH3068—whatH4100 will You giveH5414?GiveH5414 them wombsH7358 that miscarryH7921and breastsH7699 that dry upH6784!

AllH3605 their evilH7451 appears at GilgalH1537,forH3588 thereH8033 I hated themH8130.I will drive themH1644 from My houseH1004forH5921 the wickednessH7455 of their deedsH4611.I will noH3808 longerH3254 love themH160;allH3605 their leadersH8269 are rebelliousH5637.16EphraimH669 is struck downH5221;their rootH8328 is witheredH3001;they cannot bearH6213 fruitH6529 H1097.EvenH1571 ifH3588 they bear childrenH3205,I will slayH4191 the darlingsH4261 of their wombsH990.17My GodH430 will reject themH3988becauseH3588 they have notH3808 obeyedH8085 Him;and they shall beH1961 wanderersH5074among the nationsH1471.
