Kings 21:2-17
And he didH6213 evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068 by following the abominationsH8441 of the nationsH1471 thatH834 the LORDH3068 had driven outH3423 beforeH6440 the IsraelitesH1121H3478. 3For he rebuiltH7725H1129 the high placesH1116 thatH834 his fatherH1 HezekiahH2396 had destroyedH6, and he raised upH6965 altarsH4196 for BaalH1168. He madeH6213 an Asherah poleH842, asH834 KingH4428 AhabH256 of IsraelH3478 had doneH6213, and he worshipedH7812 and servedH5647 allH3605 the hostH6635 of heavenH8064.
Manasseh also builtH1129 altarsH4196 in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, of whichH834 the LORDH3068 had saidH559, “In JerusalemH3389 I will putH7760 My NameH8034.” 5In bothH8147 courtyardsH2691 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, he builtH1129 altarsH4196 to allH3605 the hostH6635 of heavenH8064. 6He sacrificedH5674 his own sonH1121 in the fireH784,1 practiced sorceryH6049 and divinationH5172, and consultedH6213 mediumsH178 and spiritistsH3049. He didH6213 greatH7235 evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068, provoking Him to angerH3707.
Manasseh even took the carvedH6459 Asherah poleH842 he had madeH6213 and set it upH7760 in the templeH1004, of whichH834 the LORDH3068 had saidH559 toH413 DavidH1732H413 and his sonH1121 SolomonH8010, “In thisH2088 templeH1004 and in JerusalemH3389, whichH834 I have chosenH977 out of allH3605 the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478, I will establishH7760 My NameH8034 foreverH5769. 8I will neverH3808 againH3254 cause the feetH7272 of the IsraelitesH3478 to wanderH5110 fromH4480 the landH127 thatH834 I gaveH5414 to their fathersH1, ifH518 onlyH7535 they are carefulH8104 to doH6213 allH3605 I have commanded themH6680—the wholeH3605 LawH8451 thatH834 My servantH5650 MosesH4872 commandedH6680 themH853.”
But the people did notH3808 listenH8085 and ManassehH4519 led them astrayH8582, so that they didH6213 greater evilH7451 thanH4480 the nationsH1471 thatH834 the LORDH3068 had destroyedH8045 beforeH6440 the IsraelitesH1121H3478.
And the LORDH3068 spokeH1696 throughH3027 His servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030, sayingH559, 11“SinceH3282 ManassehH4519 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 has committedH6213 allH3605 theseH428 abominationsH8441, acting more wickedlyH7489 than the AmoritesH567 whoH834 preceded himH6440, andH1571 with his idolsH1544 has caused JudahH3063 to sinH2398, 12this is whatH3541 the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, saysH559: ‘BeholdH2005, I am bringingH935 such calamityH7451 uponH5921 JerusalemH3389 and JudahH3063 thatH834 the news will reverberateH6750 in the earsH8147H241 of allH3605 who hear itH8085.
I will stretch outH5186 overH5921 JerusalemH3389 the measuring lineH6957 used against SamariaH8111 and the plumb lineH4949 used against the houseH1004 of AhabH256, and I will wipe outH4229 JerusalemH3389 asH834 one wipes outH4229 a bowlH6747—wipingH4229 it and turningH2015 it upside downH5921H6440. 14So I will forsakeH5203 the remnantH7611 of My inheritanceH5159 and deliver themH5414 into the handsH3027 of their enemiesH341. And they will becomeH1961 plunderH957 and spoilH4933 to allH3605 their enemiesH341, 15becauseH3282 they have doneH6213 evilH7451 in My sightH5869H1961 and have provoked MeH3707 to angerH853 fromH4480 the dayH3117 their fathersH1 cameH3318 out of EgyptH4714 untilH5704 thisH2088 dayH3117.’”
MoreoverH1571, ManassehH4519 shedH8210 so muchH7235H3966 innocentH5355 bloodH1818 thatH5704 he filledH4390 JerusalemH3389 from end to endH6310, in addition toH905 the sinH2403 thatH834 he had caused JudahH3063 to commitH2398, doingH6213 evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068.
As for the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of ManassehH4519, along with allH3605 his accomplishmentsH834H6213 and the sinH2403 thatH834 he committedH2398, are theyH1992 notH3808 writtenH3789 inH5921 the BookH5612 of the ChroniclesH1697H3117 of the KingsH4428 of JudahH3063?
