14So HezekiahH2396 receivedH3947 the letterH5612 fromH3027 the messengersH4397, read itH7121, and went up toH5927 the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 and spread it outH6566 H2396 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068. 15And HezekiahH2396 prayedH6419 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 H559:

“O LORDH3068, GodH430 of IsraelH3478, enthronedH3427 between the cherubimH3742, YouH859 aloneH905 H1931 are GodH430 over allH3605 the kingdomsH4467 of the earthH776. YouH859 madeH6213 the heavensH8064 and the earthH776. 16InclineH5186 Your earH241, O LORDH3068, and hearH8085; openH6491 Your eyesH5869, O LORDH3068, and seeH7200. Listen toH8085 the wordsH1697 thatH834 SennacheribH5576 has sentH7971 to defyH2778 the livingH2416 GodH430.

17TrulyH551, O LORDH3068, the kingsH4428 of AssyriaH804 have laid wasteH2717 these nationsH1471 and their landsH776. 18They have castH5414 their godsH430 into the fireH784 and destroyed themH6, forH3588 theyH1992 were notH3808 godsH430, butH3588 onlyH518 woodH6086 and stoneH68—the workH4639 of humanH120 handsH3027.

19And nowH6258, O LORDH3068 our GodH430, pleaseH4994 save usH3467 from his handH3027, so that allH3605 the kingdomsH4467 of the earthH776 may knowH3045 thatH3588 YouH859 aloneH905, O LORDH3068, are GodH430.”

20Then IsaiahH3470 sonH1121 of AmozH531 sentH7971 a message toH413 HezekiahH2396 : “This is whatH3541 the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, saysH559 : I have heardH8085 your prayerH6419 concerningH413 SennacheribH5576 kingH4428 of AssyriaH804. 21ThisH2088 is the wordH1697 thatH834 the LORDH3068 has spokenH1696 against himH5921:

‘The VirginH1330 DaughterH1323 of ZionH6726despisesH959 you and mocksH3932 you;the DaughterH1323 of JerusalemH3389shakesH5128 her headH7218 behind youH310.22 WhomH4310 have you tauntedH2778 and blasphemedH1442?AgainstH5921 whomH4310 have you raisedH7311 your voiceH6963and liftedH5375 your eyesH5869 in prideH4791?AgainstH5921 the Holy OneH6918 of IsraelH3478!23ThroughH3027 your servantsH4397 you have tauntedH2778 the LordH136,and you have saidH559:

“With my manyH7393 chariotsH7393IH589 have ascendedH5927to the heightsH4791 of the mountainsH2022,to the remote peaksH3411 of LebanonH3844.I have cut downH3772 its tallestH6967 cedarsH730,the finestH4004 of its cypressesH1265.1I have reachedH935 its farthestH7093 outpostsH4411,the densestH3293 of its forestsH3759.24IH589 have dug wellsH6979and drunkH8354 foreignH2114 watersH4325.With the solesH3709 of my feetH6471I have dried upH2717 allH3605 the streamsH2975 of EgyptH4693.”

25Have you notH3808 heardH8085?Long agoH7350 I ordainedH6213 itH853;in daysH3117 of oldH6924 I planned itH3335.Now I haveH6258 brought it to passH935,that you should crushH1961 H7582 fortifiedH1219 citiesH5892into pilesH1530 of rubbleH5327.26Therefore their inhabitantsH3427, devoidH7116 of powerH3027,are dismayedH2865 and ashamedH954.They are likeH1961 plantsH6212 in the fieldH7704,tenderH3419 green shootsH1877,grassH2682 on the rooftopsH1406,scorchedH7711 beforeH6440 it is grownH7054.

27But I knowH3045 your sitting downH3427,your going outH3318 and coming inH935,and your ragingH7264 against MeH413.28BecauseH3282 your rageH7264 and arroganceH7600 against MeH413have reachedH5927 My earsH241,I will putH7760 My hookH2397 in your noseH639and My bitH4964 in your mouthH8193;I will send you backH7725the wayH1870 you cameH935.’

29And thisH2088 will be a signH226 to you, O Hezekiah:

This yearH8141 you will eatH398what grows on its ownH5599,and in the secondH8145 yearH8141what springs from the sameH7823.But in the thirdH7992 yearH8141 you will sowH2232 and reapH7114;you will plantH5193 vineyardsH3754 and eatH398 their fruitH6529.30And the survivingH7604 remnantH6413 of the houseH1004 of JudahH3063will againH3254 take rootH8328 belowH4295and bearH6213 fruitH6529 aboveH4605.31ForH3588 a remnantH7611 will go forthH3318 from JerusalemH3389,and survivorsH6413 from MountH2022 ZionH6726.The zealH7068 of the LORDH3068 of Hosts2will accomplishH6213 thisH2063.

32SoH3651 this is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 saysH559 aboutH413 the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804:

‘He will notH3808 enterH935 H413 thisH2063 cityH3808 H5892or shootH3384 an arrowH2671 into itH3808 H8033.He will not come before itH6923 with a shieldH4043or build upH8210 a siege rampH5550 against itH5921.33He will go backH7725 the wayH1870 he cameH935,and he will notH3808 enterH413 H935 thisH2063 cityH5892,declaresH5002 the LORDH3068.34I will defendH1598 H413 thisH2063 cityH5892and save itH3467for My own sakeH4616and for the sake ofH4616 My servantH5650 DavidH1732.’”
