2 Kings 14:2-6
2He wasH1961 twenty-fiveH6242H2568 years oldH1121H8141 when he became kingH4427, and he reignedH4427 in JerusalemH3389 twenty-nineH6242H8672 yearsH8141. His mother’sH517 nameH8034 was JehoaddanH3086; she was fromH4480 JerusalemH3389. 3And he didH6213 what was rightH3477 in the eyesH5869 of the LORDH3068, butH7535 notH3808 as his fatherH1 David had doneH1732. He didH6213 everythingH3605 asH834 his fatherH1 JoashH3101 had doneH6213.
4NeverthelessH7535, the high placesH1116 were notH3808 taken awayH5493, and the peopleH5971 continuedH5750 sacrificingH2076 and burning incenseH6999 on the high placesH1116.
As soon asH834 the kingdomH4467 was firmlyH2388 in his graspH3027, Amaziah executedH5221 the servantsH5650 who had murderedH5221 his fatherH1 the kingH4428. 6YetH853 he did notH3808 put the sonsH1121 of the murderersH5221 to deathH4191, but acted according to what is writtenH3789 in the BookH5612 of the LawH8451 of MosesH4872, whereH834 the LORDH3068H559 commandedH6680: “FathersH1 must notH3808 be put to deathH4191 forH5921 their childrenH1121, and childrenH1121 must notH3808 be put to deathH4191 forH5921 their fathersH1; eachH376 is to dieH4191 for his own sinH2399.”1
