2 Kings 13:9-25
9And JehoahazH3059 restedH7901 withH5973 his fathersH1 and was buriedH6912 in SamariaH8111. And his sonH1121 JehoashH31011 reignedH4427 in his placeH8478.
10In the thirty-seventhH7970H7651 yearH8141 of the reignH4428 of JoashH3101 over JudahH3063, JehoashH3060 sonH1121 of JehoahazH3059 became kingH4427 ofH5921 IsraelH3478 in SamariaH8111, and he reigned sixteenH8337H6240 yearsH8141. 11And he didH6213 evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068 and did notH3808 turn awayH5493 from allH3605 the sinsH2403 thatH834 JeroboamH3379 sonH1121 of NebatH5028 had caused IsraelH3478 to commitH2398, but he walked in themH1980.
12As for the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of JehoashH3101, along with allH3605 his accomplishmentsH834H6213 and his mightH1369, including his warH3898 againstH5973 AmaziahH558 kingH4428 of JudahH3063, are theyH1992 notH3808 writtenH3789 inH5921 the BookH5612 of the ChroniclesH1697H3117 of the KingsH4428 of IsraelH3478?
13And JehoashH3101 restedH7901 withH5973 his fathersH1, and JeroboamH3379 succeeded himH3427 onH5921 the throneH3678. JehoashH3101 was buriedH6912 in SamariaH8111 withH5973 the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478.
14When ElishaH477 had fallen sickH2470 with the illnessH2483 from whichH834 he would dieH4191, JehoashH3101 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 came downH3381 to himH413 and weptH1058 overH5921 himH6440, sayingH559, “My fatherH1, my fatherH1, the chariotsH7393 and horsemenH6571 of IsraelH3478!”
15ElishaH477 toldH559 him, “TakeH3947 a bowH7198 and some arrowsH2671.”
So Jehoash tookH3947H413 a bowH7198 and some arrowsH2671.
16Then Elisha saidH559 to the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, “PutH7392 your handH3027 onH5921 the bowH7198.”
So the king putH7392 his hand onH3027 the bow, and ElishaH477 putH7760 his handsH3027 onH5921 the king’sH4428 handsH3027.
17“OpenH6605 the eastH6924 windowH2474,” said ElishaH559.
So he openedH6605 it and ElishaH477 saidH559, “ShootH3384!” So he shotH3384.
And Elisha declaredH559:
18Then Elisha saidH559, “TakeH3947 the arrowsH2671!”
So he tookH3947 them, and Elisha saidH559 to the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, “StrikeH5221 the groundH776!”
So he struckH5221 the ground threeH7969 timesH6471 and stoppedH5975.
19But the manH376 of GodH430 was angryH7107 with himH5921 and saidH559, “You should have struckH5221 the ground fiveH2568 orH176 sixH8337 timesH6471. ThenH227 you would have struck downH5221 AramH758 untilH5704 you had put an end to itH3615. But nowH6258 you will strike downH5221 AramH758 only threeH7969 timesH6471.”
20And ElishaH477 diedH4191 and was buriedH6912.
Now the MoabiteH4124 raidersH1416 used to comeH935 into the landH776 every springH935H8141.2 21OnceH1961, as the IsraelitesH1992 were buryingH6912 a manH376, suddenlyH2009 they sawH7200 a bandH1416 of raiders, so they threwH7993 the man’s bodyH376 into Elisha’sH477H1980 tombH6913. And as soon as his body touchedH5060 the bonesH6106 of ElishaH477, the manH376 was revivedH2421 and stoodH6965 up onH5921 his feetH7272.
22And HazaelH2371 kingH4428 of AramH758 oppressedH3905 IsraelH3478 throughoutH3605 the reignH3117 of JehoahazH3059. 23But the LORDH3068 was graciousH2603 toH854 Israel and had compassion on themH7355, and He turnedH6437 toward themH413 because ofH4616 His covenantH1285 withH854 AbrahamH85, IsaacH3327, and JacobH3290. And toH5704 this dayH6258, the LORD has been unwillingH3808H14 to destroy themH7843 orH3808 cast themH7993 fromH5921 His presenceH6440.
24When HazaelH2371 kingH4428 of AramH758 diedH4191, his sonH1121 Ben-hadadH1130 reignedH4427 in his placeH8478. 25Then JehoashH3060 sonH1121 of JehoahazH3059 tookH3947 backH7725 fromH3027 Ben-hadadH1130 sonH1121 of HazaelH2371 the citiesH5892 thatH834 Hazael had takenH3947 in battleH4421 fromH3027 his fatherH1 JehoahazH3059. JehoashH3101 defeatedH5221 Ben-hadad threeH7969 timesH6471, and so recoveredH7725 the citiesH5892 of IsraelH3478.
