50Then Abimelechאֲבִימֶ֖לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40wentוַיֵּ֥לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980toאֶל־'el-H413Thebezתֵּבֵ֑ץte.VetzH8405,encampedוַיִּ֥חַןvai.Yi.chanH2583against itבְּתֵבֵ֖ץbe.te.VetzH8405,and captured itוַֽיִּלְכְּדָֽהּ׃Vai.yil.ke.DahH3920.

51But there wasהָיָ֣הha.YahH1961a strongעֹז֮'ozH5797towerוּמִגְדַּל־u.mig.dal-H4026insideבְתוֹךְ־ve.tokh-H8432the cityהָעִיר֒ha.'IrH5892,and allכָּל־kol-H3605the menהָאֲנָשִׁ֣יםha.'a.na.ShimH582,womenוְהַנָּשִׁ֗ים וְכֹל֙ve.ha.na.Shim ve.KholH802 H3605,and leadersבַּעֲלֵ֣יba.'a.LeiH1167of the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892fledוַיָּנֻ֨סוּvai.ya.Nu.suH5127thereשָׁ֜מָּהSha.mahH8033.They locked themselves inוַֽיִּסְגְּר֖וּ בַּעֲדָ֑םvai.yis.ge.Ru ba.'a.DamH5462 H1157and went upוַֽיַּעֲל֖וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927toעַל־'al-H5921the roofגַּ֥גgagH1406of the towerהַמִּגְדָּֽל׃ha.mig.DalH4026.

52When Abimelechאֲבִימֶ֙לֶךְ֙'a.vi.Me.lekhH40cameוַיָּבֹ֤אvai.ya.Vo'H935toעַד־'ad-H5704attackוַיִּלָּ֖חֶםvai.yi.La.chemH3898the towerהַמִּגְדָּ֔לha.mig.DalH4026,he approachedוַיִּגַּ֛שׁ עַד־vai.yi.Gash 'ad-H5066 H5704itsהַמִּגְדָּ֖לha.mig.DalH4026entranceפֶּ֥תַחPe.tachH6607to set it on fireלְשָׂרְפ֥וֹ בָאֵֽשׁ׃le.sa.re.Fo va.'EshH8313 H784.

53But aאַחַ֛ת'a.ChatH259womanאִשָּׁ֥ה'i.ShahH802droppedוַתַּשְׁלֵ֞ךְva.tash.LekhH7993an upperפֶּ֥לַחPe.lachH6400millstoneרֶ֖כֶבRe.khevH7393onעַל־'al-H5921Abimelech’sאֲבִימֶ֑לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40headרֹ֣אשׁroshH7218,crushingוַתָּ֖רִץva.Ta.ritzH7533אֶת־'et-H853his skullגֻּלְגָּלְתּֽוֹ׃gul.gal.ToH1538.

54He quicklyמְהֵרָ֜ה אֶל־ הַנַּ֣עַר׀me.he.Rah 'el- ha.Na.'arH4120 H413 H5288calledוַיִּקְרָ֨אvai.yik.Ra'H7121his armor-bearerנֹשֵׂ֣א כֵלָ֗יוno.Se' khe.LavH5375 H3627,sayingוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Drawשְׁלֹ֤ףshe.LofH8025your swordחַרְבְּךָ֙char.be.KhaH2719and kill meוּמ֣וֹתְתֵ֔נִיu.Mo.Te.niH4191,lestפֶּן־pen-H6435they sayיֹ֥אמְרוּYo.me.ruH559of me, ‘A womanאִשָּׁ֣ה'i.ShahH802killed himהֲרָגָ֑תְהוּha.ra.Ga.te.huH2026.’”So Abimelech’s armor-bearer ran his sword through himוַיִּדְקְרֵ֥הוּ נַעֲר֖וֹvai.yid.ke.Re.hu na.'a.RoH1856 H5288,and he diedוַיָּמֹֽת׃vai.ya.MotH4191.
