3Then the men of Judahיְהוּדָה֩ye.hu.DahH3063saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to their brothersאָחִ֜יו'a.ChivH251the Simeonitesלְשִׁמְע֨וֹןle.shim.'onH8095, “Come upעֲלֵ֧ה'a.LehH5927with usאִתִּ֣י'i.TiH854to our allotted territoryבְגוֹרָלִ֗יve.go.ra.LiH1486,and let us fightוְנִֽלָּחֲמָה֙ve.ni.la.cha.MahH3898against the Canaanitesבַּֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔יba.ke.na.'a.NiH3669.And weאֲנִ֛י'a.NiH589likewiseגַם־gam-H1571will goוְהָלַכְתִּ֧יve.ha.lakh.TiH1980with youאִתְּךָ֖'i.te.KhaH854to your territoryבְּגוֹרָלֶ֑ךָbe.go.ra.Le.khaH1486.”So the Simeonitesשִׁמְעֽוֹן׃shim.'onH8095wentוַיֵּ֥לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980with themאִתּ֖וֹ'i.ToH854.

4When Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063attackedוַיַּ֣עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927,the LORDיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068אֶת־'et-H853deliveredוַיִּתֵּ֧ןvai.yi.TenH5414the Canaanitesהַכְּנַעֲנִ֥יha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669and Perizzitesוְהַפְּרִזִּ֖יve.hap.pe.ri.ZiH6522into their handsבְּיָדָ֑םbe.ya.DamH3027,and they struck downוַיַּכּ֣וּםvai.ya.KumH5221tenעֲשֶׂ֥רֶת'a.Se.retH6235thousandאֲלָפִ֖ים'a.la.FimH505menאִֽישׁ׃'IshH376at Bezekבְּבֶ֔זֶקbe.Ve.zekH966.

10Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063also marchedוַיֵּ֣לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980againstאֶל־'el-H413the Canaanitesהַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669who were livingהַיּוֹשֵׁ֣בhai.yo.ShevH3427in Hebronבְּחֶבְר֔וֹןbe.chev.RonH2275חֶבְר֥וֹןchev.RonH2275(formerlyלְפָנִ֖יםle.fa.NimH6440known asוְשֵׁם־ve.shem-H8034Kiriath-arbaH7153),and they struck downוַיַּכּ֛וּvai.ya.KuH5221אֶת־'et-H853Sheshaiשֵׁשַׁ֥יshe.ShaiH8344וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853,Ahimanאֲחִימַ֖ן'a.chi.ManH289וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853,and Talmaiתַּלְמָֽי׃tal.MaiH8526.

11From thereמִשָּׁ֔םmi.ShamH8033they marchedוַיֵּ֣לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980againstאֶל־'el-H413the inhabitantsיוֹשְׁבֵ֖יyo.she.VeiH3427of Debirדְּבִ֑ירde.VirH1688דְּבִ֥ירde.VirH1688(formerlyלְפָנִ֖יםle.fa.NimH6440known asוְשֵׁם־ve.shem-H8034Kiriath-sepherH7158).

12And Calebכָּלֵ֔בka.LevH3612saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “To the manאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834who strikes downיַכֶּ֥הya.KehH5221אֶת־'et-H853Kiriath-sepherH7158and captures itוּלְכָדָ֑הּu.le.kha.DahH3920,I will giveוְנָתַ֥תִּיve.na.Ta.tiH5414אֶת־'et-H853my daughterבִתִּ֖יvi.TiH1323Acsahעַכְסָ֥ה'akh.SahH5915in marriageלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.”

13So Othnielעָתְנִיאֵ֣ל'a.te.ni.'ElH6274sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Caleb’sכָלֵ֖בkha.LevH3612youngerהַקָּטֹ֣ן מִמֶּ֑נּוּha.ka.Ton mi.Me.nuH6996 H4480brotherאֲחִ֥י'a.ChiH251Kenazקְנַ֔זke.NazH7073capturedוַֽיִּלְכְּדָהּ֙vai.yil.ke.DahH3920the city,and Caleb gaveוַיִּתֶּן־vai.yi.ten-H5414אֶת־'et-H853his daughterבִתּ֖וֹvi.ToH1323Acsahעַכְסָ֥ה'akh.SahH5915to himin marriageלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.

15“Giveהָֽבָה־ha.vah-H3051mea blessingבְרָכָ֗הve.ra.KhahH1293,”she answeredוַתֹּ֨אמֶרva.To.merH559. “Sinceכִּ֣יkiH3588you have given meנְתַתָּ֔נִיne.ta.Ta.niH5414landאֶ֤רֶץ'E.retzH776in the Negevהַנֶּ֙גֶב֙ha.Ne.gevH5045,giveוְנָתַתָּ֥הve.na.ta.TahH5414mespringsגֻּלֹּ֣תgu.LotH1543of waterמָ֑יִםMa.yimH4325as well.”So Calebכָּלֵ֗בka.LevH3612אֵ֚ת'etH853gaveוַיִּתֶּן־vai.yi.ten-H5414herboth the upperעִלִּ֔ית'i.LitH5942וְאֵ֖תve.'EtH853גֻּלֹּ֣תgu.LotH1543and lowerתַּחְתִּֽית׃ פtach.TitH8482springsגֻּלֹּ֥תgu.LotH1543.
