5They put wornבָּל֤וֹתba.LotH1087,patchedוּמְטֻלָּאוֹת֙u.me.tu.la.'OtH2921sandalsוּנְעָל֨וֹתu.ne.'a.LotH5275on their feetבְּרַגְלֵיהֶ֔םbe.rag.lei.HemH7272and threadbareבָּל֖וֹתba.LotH1087clothingוּשְׂלָמ֥וֹתu.se.la.MotH8008onעֲלֵיהֶ֑ם'a.lei.HemH5921their bodies,and their wholeוְכֹל֙ve.KholH3605supplyצֵידָ֔םtzei.DamH6718of breadלֶ֣חֶםLe.chemH3899was dryיָבֵ֖שׁ הָיָ֥הya.Vesh ha.YahH3001H1961andmoldyנִקֻּדִֽים׃ni.ku.DimH5350.
6They wentוַיֵּלְכ֧וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980toאֶל־'el-H413Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֛עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091inאֶל־'el-H413the campהַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖הha.ma.cha.NehH4264at Gilgalהַגִּלְגָּ֑לha.gil.GalH1537and saidוַיֹּאמְר֨וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to himאֵלָ֜יו'e.LavH413andוְאֶל־ve.'el-H413the menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478, “We have comeבָּ֔אנוּ וְעַתָּ֖הBa.nu ve.'a.TahH935H6258from a distantרְחוֹקָה֙re.cho.KahH7350landמֵאֶ֤רֶץme.'E.retzH776;please makeכִּרְתוּ־kir.tu-H3772a treatyבְרִֽית׃ve.RitH1285with us.”
7But the menאִֽישׁ־'ish-H376of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.yo.me.ruH559toאֶל־'el-H413the Hivitesהַחִוִּ֑יha.chi.ViH2340, “Perhapsאוּלַ֗י'u.LaiH194youאַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH859dwellיוֹשֵׁ֔בyo.ShevH3427near usבְּקִרְבִּי֙be.kir.BiH7130.Howוְאֵ֖יךְve.'EikhH349can we makeאֶֽכְרָת'ekh.rot-H3772a treaty with youבְרִֽית׃ve.RitH1285?”
8“Weאֲנָ֑חְנוּ'a.Na.che.nuH587are your servantsעֲבָדֶ֣יךָ'a.va.Dei.khaH5650,”they saidוַיֹּאמְר֥וּvai.yo.me.RuH559toאֶל־'el-H413Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091.Then Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֛עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091asked themוַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֧םvai.Yo.mer 'a.le.HemH559H413, “Whoמִ֥יmiH4310are youאַתֶּ֖ם'a.TemH859and whereוּמֵאַ֥יִןu.me.'A.yinH370have you come fromתָּבֹֽאוּ׃ta.Vo.'uH935?”
