3So Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091madeוַיַּעַשׂ־vai.ya.'as-H6213flintצֻרִ֑יםtzu.RimH6697knivesחַֽרְב֣וֹתchar.VotH2719and circumcisedוַיָּ֙מָל֙vai.Ya.molH4135אֶת־'et-H853the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478atאֶל־'el-H413Gibeath-haaralothגִּבְעַ֖ת הָעֲרָלֽוֹת׃giv.'At ha.'a.ra.LotH1389H6190.
4Now thisוְזֶ֥הve.ZehH2088is whyהַדָּבָ֖רha.da.VarH1697אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091circumcised themמָ֣לmalH4135:Allכָּל־kol-H3605thoseהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971who came outהַיֹּצֵא֩hai.yo.Tze'H3318of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֨יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714הַזְּכָרִ֜יםha.ze.kha.RimH2145—allכֹּ֣ל׀kolH3605the menאַנְשֵׁ֣י'an.SheiH582of warהַמִּלְחָמָ֗הha.mil.cha.MahH4421—had diedמֵ֤תוּMe.tuH4191on the journeyבַּדֶּ֔רֶךְba.De.rekhH1870in the wildernessבַמִּדְבָּר֙va.mid.BarH4057after they had leftבְּצֵאתָ֖םbe.tze.TamH3318Egyptמִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃mi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714.
5Thoughכִּֽי־ki-H3588allכָּל־ הָעָ֖םkol- ha.'AmH3605H5971who had come outהַיֹּֽצְאִ֑יםhai.yo.tze.'ImH3318wereהָי֔וּha.YuH1961circumcisedמֻלִ֣יםmu.LimH4135,noneוְכָל־ לֹא־ve.khol lo'-H3605H3808of thoseהָ֠עָםHa.'omH5971bornהַיִּלֹּדִ֨יםhai.yi.lo.DimH3209in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֥רba.mid.BarH4057on the journeyבַּדֶּ֛רֶךְba.De.rekhH1870from Egyptבְּצֵאתָ֥ם מִמִּצְרַ֖יִםbe.tze.Tam mi.mitz.Ra.yimH3318H4714had been circumcisedמָֽלוּ׃Ma.luH4135.
6Forכִּ֣י׀kiH3588the Israelitesבְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ve.nei- Yis.ra.'ElH1121H3478had wanderedהָלְכ֣וּha.le.KhuH1980in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּר֒ba.mid.BarH4057fortyאַרְבָּעִ֣ים'ar.ba.'ImH705yearsשָׁנָ֗הsha.NahH8141,untilעַד־'ad-H5704allכָּל־kol-H3605the nation’sהַגּ֜וֹיha.GoyH1471menאַנְשֵׁ֤י'an.SheiH582of warהַמִּלְחָמָה֙ha.mil.cha.MahH4421who had come outהַיֹּצְאִ֣יםhai.yo.tze.'ImH3318of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֔יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714had diedתֹּ֨םtomH8552,sinceאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834they did notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808obeyשָׁמְע֖וּ בְּק֣וֹלsha.me.'U be.KolH8085H6963the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068.Soאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068vowedנִשְׁבַּ֤עnish.Ba'H7650neverלְבִלְתִּ֞יle.vil.TiH1115to let them seeהַרְאוֹתָ֣םhar.'o.TamH7200אֶת־'et-H853the landהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776אֲשֶׁר֩'a.SherH834Heיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068had swornנִשְׁבַּ֨עnish.Ba'H7650to their fathersלַֽאֲבוֹתָם֙la.'a.vo.TamH1to giveלָ֣תֶתLa.tetH5414us,a landאֶ֛רֶץ'E.retzH776flowingזָבַ֥תza.VatH2100with milkחָלָ֖בcha.LavH2461and honeyוּדְבָֽשׁ׃u.de.VashH1706.
7Andוְאֶת־ve.'EtH853He raised upהֵקִ֣יםhe.KimH6965their sonsבְּנֵיהֶם֙be.nei.HemH1121in their placeתַּחְתָּ֔םtach.TamH8478,and these were the onesאֹתָ֖ם'o.TamH853Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091circumcisedמָ֣לmalH4135. Until this timethey wereכִּי־ הָי֔וּki- ha.YuH1961H3588still uncircumcisedעֲרֵלִ֣ים'a.re.LimH6189,sinceכִּ֛יkiH3588they had notלֹא־lo'-H3808been circumcisedמָ֥לוּMa.luH4135אוֹתָ֖ם'o.TamH853along the wayבַּדָּֽרֶךְ׃ba.Da.rekhH1870.
8Andוַיְהִ֛יvay.HiH1961afterכַּאֲשֶׁר־ תַּ֥מּוּka.'a.Sher- Ta.muH834H8552allכָל־khol-H3605the nationהַגּ֖וֹיha.GoyH1471had been circumcisedלְהִמּ֑וֹלle.hi.MolH4135,they stayedוַיֵּשְׁב֥וּvai.ye.she.VuH3427thereתַחְתָּ֛םtach.TamH8478in the campבַּֽמַּחֲנֶ֖הba.ma.cha.NehH4264untilעַ֥ד'adH5704they were healedחֲיוֹתָֽם׃ פcha.yo.TamH2421.
9Then the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091, “Todayהַיּ֗וֹםhai.YomH3117I have rolled awayגַּלּ֛וֹתִיga.Lo.tiH1556אֶת־'et-H853the reproachחֶרְפַּ֥תcher.PatH2781of Egyptמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714from youמֵעֲלֵיכֶ֑םme.'a.lei.KhemH5921.”So thatהַהוּא֙ha.Hu'H1931placeהַמָּק֤וֹםha.ma.KomH4725has been calledוַיִּקְרָ֞א שֵׁ֣םvai.yik.Ra' shemH7121H8034Gilgalגִּלְגָּ֔לgil.GalH1537toעַ֖ד'adH5704thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.
