3So Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091madeוַיַּעַשׂ־vai.ya.'as-H6213himself flintH6864knivesחַֽרְב֣וֹתchar.VotH2719and circumcisedוַיָּ֙מָל֙vai.Ya.molH4135the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478atGibeath-haaralothגִּבְעַ֖ת הָעֲרָלֽוֹת׃giv.'At ha.'a.ra.LotH1389 H6190.

4Thisוְזֶ֥הve.ZehH2088is the reasonהַדָּבָ֖רha.da.VarH1697whyאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091circumcisedמָ֣לmalH4135them:allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971who cameהַיֹּצֵא֩hai.yo.Tze'H3318out of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֨יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714who were malesהַזְּכָרִ֜יםha.ze.kha.RimH2145,allכֹּ֣ל׀kolH3605the menH376of warהַמִּלְחָמָ֗הha.mil.cha.MahH4421,diedמֵ֤תוּMe.tuH4191in the wildernessבַמִּדְבָּר֙va.mid.BarH4057along the wayבַּדֶּ֔רֶךְba.De.rekhH1870after they cameבְּצֵאתָ֖םbe.tze.TamH3318out of Egyptמִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃mi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

5For allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971who cameהַיֹּֽצְאִ֑יםhai.yo.tze.'ImH3318out were circumcisedמֻלִ֣יםmu.LimH4135,but allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the peopleהָ֠עָםHa.'omH5971who were bornהַיִּלֹּדִ֨יםhai.yi.lo.DimH3209in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֥רba.mid.BarH4057along the wayבַּדֶּ֛רֶךְba.De.rekhH1870as they cameבְּצֵאתָ֥םbe.tze.TamH3318out of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֖יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714had not been circumcisedמָֽלוּ׃Ma.luH4135.

6For the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֮Yis.ra.'ElH3478walkedהָלְכ֣וּha.le.KhuH1980fortyאַרְבָּעִ֣ים'ar.ba.'ImH705yearsשָׁנָ֗הsha.NahH8141in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּר֒ba.mid.BarH4057,untilעַד־'ad-H5704allכָּל־kol-H3605the nationהַגּ֜וֹיha.GoyH1471, that is,the menH376of warהַמִּלְחָמָה֙ha.mil.cha.MahH4421who cameהַיֹּצְאִ֣יםhai.yo.tze.'ImH3318out of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֔יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,perishedתֹּ֨םtomH8552becauseאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834they did not listenשָׁמְע֖וּsha.me.'UH8085to the voiceבְּק֣וֹלbe.KolH6963of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,to whomאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068had swornנִשְׁבַּ֤עnish.Ba'H7650that He would not let them seeהַרְאוֹתָ֣םhar.'o.TamH7200the landהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776whichאֲשֶׁר֩'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068had swornנִשְׁבַּ֨עnish.Ba'H7650to their fathersלַֽאֲבוֹתָם֙la.'a.vo.TamH1to giveלָ֣תֶתLa.tetH5414us, a landאֶ֛רֶץ'E.retzH776flowingזָבַ֥תza.VatH2100with milkחָלָ֖בcha.LavH2461and honeyוּדְבָֽשׁ׃u.de.VashH1706.

7Their childrenבְּנֵיהֶם֙be.nei.HemH1121whom He raisedהֵקִ֣יםhe.KimH6965up in their placeתַּחְתָּ֔םtach.TamH8478,Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091circumcisedמָ֣לmalH4135;for they were uncircumcisedעֲרֵלִ֣ים'a.re.LimH6189,becauseH3588they had not circumcisedמָ֥לוּMa.luH4135them along the wayבַּדָּֽרֶךְ׃ba.Da.rekhH1870.

8Now whenH3512they had finishedתַּ֥מּוּTa.muH8552circumcisingלְהִמּ֑וֹלle.hi.MolH4135allכָל־khol-H3605the nationהַגּ֖וֹיha.GoyH1471,they remainedוַיֵּשְׁב֥וּvai.ye.she.VuH3427in their placesתַחְתָּ֛םtach.TamH8478in the campבַּֽמַּחֲנֶ֖הba.ma.cha.NehH4264untilעַ֥ד'adH5704they werehealedחֲיוֹתָֽם׃ פcha.yo.TamH2421.

9Then the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091, “Todayהַיּ֗וֹםhai.YomH3117I have rolledH1556awayגַּלּ֛וֹתִיga.Lo.tiH1556the reproachחֶרְפַּ֥תcher.PatH2781of Egyptמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714from you.” So the nameשֵׁ֣םshemH8034of that placeהַמָּק֤וֹםha.ma.KomH4725is calledוַיִּקְרָ֞אvai.yik.Ra'H7121Gilgalגִּלְגָּ֔לgil.GalH1537to thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.
