2“Whereאֵ֥י מִזֶּ֖ה'ei mi.ZehH335 H2088have you come fromתָּבֹ֑אta.Vo'H935?”saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068toאֶל־'el-H413Satanהַשָּׂטָ֔ןha.sa.TanH7854. “From roamingמִשֻּׁ֣טmi.ShutH7751through the earthבָּאָ֔רֶץba.'A.retzH776,” heהַשָּׂטָ֤ןha.sa.TanH7854אֶת־'et-H853repliedוַיַּ֨עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030יְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068וַיֹּאמַ֔רvai.yo.MarH559, “and walking back and forthוּמֵהִתְהַלֵּ֖ךְu.me.hit.ha.LekhH1980in it.”

3Then the LORDיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413Satanהַשָּׂטָ֗ןha.sa.TanH7854, “Have you consideredהֲשַׂ֣מְתָּ לִבְּךָ֮ אֶל־ha.Sam.ta li.be.Kha 'el-H7760 H3820 H413My servantעַבְדִּ֣י'av.DiH5650Jobאִיּוֹב֒'i.yOvH347?Forכִּי֩kiH3588there isno oneאֵ֨ין'einH369on earthבָּאָ֗רֶץba.'A.retzH776like himכָּמֹ֜הוּka.Mo.huH3644,a manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376who isblamelessתָּ֧םtamH8535and uprightוְיָשָׁ֛רve.ya.SharH3477,who fearsיְרֵ֥אye.Re'H3373Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430and shunsוְסָ֣רve.SarH5493evilמֵרָ֑עme.Ra'H7451.He stillוְעֹדֶ֙נּוּ֙ve.'o.De.nuH5750retainsמַחֲזִ֣יקma.cha.ZikH2388his integrityבְּתֻמָּת֔וֹbe.tu.ma.ToH8538,even though you incited Meוַתְּסִיתֵ֥נִיva.te.si.Te.niH5496against himto ruin himלְבַלְּע֥וֹle.va.le.'OH1104without causeחִנָּֽם׃chi.NamH2600.”

4“Skinע֣וֹרorH5785forבְּעַד־be.'ad-H1157skinע֗וֹרorH5785יְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068!”Satanהַשָּׂטָ֛ןha.sa.TanH7854אֶת־'et-H853repliedוַיַּ֧עַן וַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.Ya.'an vai.yo.MarH6030 H559. “A manלָאִ֔ישׁla.'IshH376will give upיִתֵּ֖ןyi.TenH5414allוְכֹל֙ve.KholH3605he ownsאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834in exchange forבְּעַ֥דbe.'AdH1157his lifeנַפְשֽׁוֹ׃naf.ShoH5315.

7So Satanהַשָּׂטָ֔ן מֵאֵ֖תha.sa.Tan me.'EtH7854 H854went outוַיֵּצֵא֙vai.ye.Tze'H3318from the presenceפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440of the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068and infectedוַיַּ֤ךְvai.YakhH5221אֶת־'et-H853Jobאִיּוֹב֙'i.yOvH347with terribleרָ֔עRa'H7451boilsבִּשְׁחִ֣יןbish.ChinH7822from the solesמִכַּ֥ףmi.KafH3709of his feetרַגְל֖וֹrag.LoH7272toוְעַ֥דve.adH5704the crown of his headקָדְקֳדֽוֹ׃ka.de.ko.DoH6936.

8And Job tookוַיִּֽקַּֽח־vai.yi.kach-H3947a piece of broken potteryחֶ֔רֶשׂChe.resH2789to scrapeלְהִתְגָּרֵ֖דle.hit.ga.RedH1623himselfas heוְה֖וּאve.Hu'H1931satיֹשֵׁ֥בyo.ShevH3427amongבְּתוֹךְ־be.tokh-H8432the ashesהָאֵֽפֶר׃ha.'E.ferH665.

9Then Job’s wifeאִשְׁתּ֔וֹ'ish.ToH802saidוַתֹּ֤אמֶרva.To.merH559to him, “Do you stillעֹדְךָ֖'o.de.KhaH5750retainמַחֲזִ֣יקma.cha.ZikH2388your integrityבְּתֻמָּתֶ֑ךָbe.tu.ma.Te.khaH8538?Curseבָּרֵ֥ךְba.RekhH1288Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430and dieוָמֻֽת׃va.MutH4191!”
