21Inעַל־'al-H5921his placeכַּנּוֹ֙ka.NoH3653a despicable personנִבְזֶ֔הniv.ZehH959will ariseוְעָמַ֤דve.'a.MadH5975;royalמַלְכ֑וּתmal.KhutH4438honorsה֣וֹדHodH1935will notוְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808be givenנָתְנ֥וּna.te.NuH5414to himעָלָ֖יו'a.LavH5921,but he will comeוּבָ֣אu.Va'H935in a time of peaceבְשַׁלְוָ֔הve.shal.VahH7962and seizeוְהֶחֱזִ֥יקve.he.che.ZikH2388the kingdomמַלְכ֖וּתmal.KhutH4438by intrigueבַּחֲלַקְלַקּֽוֹת׃ba.cha.lak.la.KotH2519.

22Then a floodהַשֶּׁ֛טֶףha.She.tefH7858of forcesוּזְרֹע֥וֹתu.ze.ro.'otH2220will be swept awayיִשָּׁטְפ֥וּyi.sha.te.FuH7857before himמִלְּפָנָ֖יוmi.le.fa.NavH6440and destroyedוְיִשָּׁבֵ֑רוּve.yi.sha.Ve.ruH7665,along withוְגַ֖םve.GamH1571a princeנְגִ֥ידne.GidH5057of the covenantבְּרִֽית׃be.RitH1285.

23Afterוּמִן־u.min-H4480an alliance is madeהִֽתְחַבְּר֥וּתhit.cha.be.RutH2266with himאֵלָ֖יו'e.LavH413,he will actיַעֲשֶׂ֣הya.'a.SehH6213deceitfullyמִרְמָ֑הmir.MahH4820;for he will riseוְעָלָ֥הve.'a.LahH5927to powerוְעָצַ֖םve.'a.TzamH6105with only a fewבִּמְעַט־bim.'at-H4592peopleגּֽוֹי׃GoyH1471.

24In a time of peaceבְּשַׁלְוָ֞הbe.shal.VahH7962,he will invadeיָבוֹא֒ya.Vo'H935the richestוּבְמִשְׁמַנֵּ֣יuv.mish.ma.NeiH4924provincesמְדִינָה֮me.di.NahH4082and doוְעָשָׂ֗הve.'a.SahH6213whatאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834his fathersH1and forefathersH1neverלֹא־lo'-H3808didעָשׂ֤וּ'a.SuH6213.He will lavishיִבְז֑וֹרyiv.ZorH967plunderבִּזָּ֧הbi.ZahH961,lootוְשָׁלָ֛לve.sha.LalH7998,and wealthוּרְכ֖וּשׁu.re.KhushH7399on his followers,and he will plotיְחַשֵּׁ֥ב מַחְשְׁבֹתָ֖יוye.cha.Shev mach.she.vo.TavH2803 H4284againstוְעַ֧לve.'AlH5921the strongholdsמִבְצָרִ֛יםmiv.tza.RimH4013—but only forוְעַד־ve.'ad-H5704a timeעֵֽת׃'EtH6256.

25And with a largeגָּדוֹל֒ga.dOlH1419armyבְּחַ֣יִלbe.Cha.yilH2428he will stir upוְיָעֵר֩ve.ya.'ErH5782his powerכֹּח֨וֹko.ChoH3581and his courageוּלְבָב֜וֹu.le.va.VoH3824againstעַל־'al-H5921the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of the Southהַנֶּגֶב֮ha.ne.GevH5045, whoוּמֶ֣לֶךְ הַנֶּ֗גֶבu.Me.lekh ha.Ne.gevH4428 H5045will mobilizeיִתְגָּרֶה֙ לַמִּלְחָמָ֔הyit.ga.Reh la.mil.cha.MahH1624 H4421a veryעַד־ מְאֹ֑ד'ad- me.'OdH5704 H3966largeגָּד֥וֹלga.DolH1419and powerfulוְעָצ֖וּםve.'a.TzumH6099armyבְּחַֽיִל־be.cha.yil-H2428but will notוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808withstandיַעֲמֹ֔דya.'a.ModH5975כִּֽי־ki-H3588the plotsמַחֲשָׁבֽוֹת׃ma.cha.sha.VotH4284devisedיַחְשְׁב֥וּyach.she.VuH2803against himעָלָ֖יו'a.LavH5921.

26Those who eatוְאֹכְלֵ֧יve.'o.khe.LeiH398from his provisionsH6598will seek to destroy himיִשְׁבְּר֖וּהוּyish.be.Ru.huH7665;his armyוְחֵיל֣וֹve.chei.LoH2428will be swept awayיִשְׁט֑וֹףyish.TofH7857,and manyרַבִּֽים׃ra.BimH7227will fallוְנָפְל֖וּve.na.fe.LuH5307slainחֲלָלִ֥יםcha.la.LimH2491.

27And the twoוּשְׁנֵיהֶ֤םu.she.nei.HemH8147kingsהַמְּלָכִים֙ha.me.la.KhimH4428,with their heartsלְבָבָ֣םle.va.VamH3824bent on evilלְמֵרָ֔עle.me.Ra'H4827,will speakיְדַבֵּ֑רוּye.da.Be.ruH1696liesכָּזָ֣בka.ZavH3577atוְעַל־ve.'al-H5921the sameאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259tableשֻׁלְחָ֥ןshul.ChanH7979,but to noוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808availתִצְלָ֔חtitz.LachH6743,forכִּי־ki-H3588stillע֥וֹדodH5750the endקֵ֖ץketzH7093will come at the appointed timeלַמּוֹעֵֽד׃la.mo.'EdH4150.

28The king of the North will returnוְיָשֹׁ֤בve.ya.ShoH7725to his landאַרְצוֹ֙'ar.TzoH776with greatגָּד֔וֹלga.DolH1419wealthבִּרְכ֣וּשׁbir.KhushH7399,but his heartוּלְבָב֖וֹu.le.va.VoH3824will be set againstעַל־'al-H5921the holyקֹ֑דֶשׁKo.deshH6944covenantבְּרִ֣יתbe.RitH1285;so he will doוְעָשָׂ֖הve.'a.SahH6213damageand returnוְשָׁ֥בve.ShavH7725to his own landלְאַרְצֽוֹ׃le.'ar.TzoH776.

29At the appointed timeלַמּוֹעֵ֥דla.mo.'EdH4150he will invadeוּבָ֣אu.Va'H935the Southבַנֶּ֑גֶבva.Ne.gevH5045againיָשׁ֖וּבya.ShuvH7725,but this time will notוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808beתִהְיֶ֥הtih.YehH1961like the firstכָרִאשֹׁנָ֖ה וְכָאַחֲרֹנָֽה׃kha.ri.sho.Nah ve.kha.'a.cha.ro.NahH7223 H314.

30Shipsצִיִּ֤יםtzi.YimH6716of Kittimכִּתִּים֙ki.TimH3794will comeוּבָ֨אוּu.Va.'uH935against him,and he will lose heartוְנִכְאָ֔הve.nikh.'AhH3512.Then he will turn backוְשָׁ֛בve.ShavH7725and rageוְזָעַ֥םve.za.'AmH2194againstעַל־'al-H5921the holyק֖וֹדֶשׁKo.deshH6944covenantבְּרִֽית־be.rit-H1285and doוְעָשָׂ֑הve.'a.SahH6213damage.So he will returnוְשָׁ֣בve.ShavH7725and show favorוְיָבֵ֔ןve.ya.VenH995toעַל־'al-H5921those who forsakeעֹזְבֵ֖י'o.ze.VeiH5800the holyקֹֽדֶשׁ׃Ko.deshH6944covenantבְּרִ֥יתbe.RitH1285.

31Hisמִמֶּ֣נּוּmi.Me.nuH4480forcesוּזְרֹעִ֖יםu.ze.ro.'ImH2220will rise upיַעֲמֹ֑דוּya.'a.Mo.duH5975and desecrateוְחִלְּל֞וּve.chi.le.LuH2490the templeהַמִּקְדָּ֤שׁha.mik.DashH4720fortressהַמָּעוֹז֙ha.ma.'OzH4581.They will abolishוְהֵסִ֣ירוּve.he.Si.ruH5493the daily sacrificeהַתָּמִ֔ידha.ta.MidH8548and set upוְנָתְנ֖וּve.na.te.NuH5414the abominationהַשִּׁקּ֥וּץha.shi.KutzH8251of desolationמְשׁוֹמֵֽם׃me.sho.MemH8074.

32With flatteryבַּחֲלַקּ֑וֹתba.cha.la.KotH2514he will corruptיַחֲנִ֖יףya.cha.NifH2610those who violateוּמַרְשִׁיעֵ֣יu.mar.shi.'EiH7561the covenantבְרִ֔יתve.RitH1285,but the peopleוְעַ֛םve.'AmH5971who knowיֹדְעֵ֥יyo.de.'EiH3045their Godאֱלֹהָ֖יו'e.lo.HavH430will firmlyיַחֲזִ֥קוּya.cha.Zi.kuH2388resistוְעָשֽׂוּ׃ve.'a.SuH6213him.

33Those with insightוּמַשְׂכִּ֣ילֵי עָ֔םu.mas.Ki.lei 'AmH7919 H5971will instructיָבִ֖ינוּya.Vi.nuH995manyלָֽרַבִּ֑יםla.ra.BimH7227,though for a timeיָמִֽים׃ya.MimH3117they will fallוְנִכְשְׁל֞וּve.nikh.she.LuH3782by swordבְּחֶ֧רֶבbe.Che.revH2719or flameוּבְלֶהָבָ֛הuv.le.ha.VaH3852,or be capturedבִּשְׁבִ֥יbish.ViH7628or plunderedוּבְבִזָּ֖הuv.vi.ZahH961.

34Now when they fallוּבְהִכָּ֣שְׁלָ֔םuv.hi.Ka.she.LamH3782,they will be grantedיֵעָזְר֖וּye.'a.ze.RuH5826a littleמְעָ֑טme.'AtH4592helpעֵ֣זֶר'E.zerH5828,but manyרַבִּ֖יםra.BimH7227will joinוְנִלְו֧וּve.nil.VuH3867themעֲלֵיהֶ֛ם'a.lei.HemH5921insincerelyבַּחֲלַקְלַקּֽוֹת׃ba.cha.lak.la.KotH2519.

35Some ofוּמִן־u.min-H4480the wiseהַמַּשְׂכִּילִ֣יםha.mas.ki.LimH7919will fallיִכָּֽשְׁל֗וּyi.ka.she.LuH3782so that they may be refinedלִצְר֥וֹףlitz.RofH6884,purifiedוּלְבָרֵ֥רu.le.va.RerH1305,and made spotlessוְלַלְבֵּ֖ןve.lal.BenH3835untilעַד־'ad-H5704the timeעֵ֣ת'etH6256of the endקֵ֑ץKetzH7093,forכִּי־ki-H3588it will stillע֖וֹדodH5750come at the appointed timeלַמּוֹעֵֽד׃la.mo.'EdH4150.
