2“Amosעָמ֔וֹסa.MosH5986,whatמָֽה־mah-H4100do youאַתָּ֤ה'a.TahH859seeרֹאֶה֙ro.'EhH7200?”He askedוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559. “A basketכְּל֣וּבke.LuvH3619of summer fruitקָ֑יִץKa.yitzH7019,”I repliedוָאֹמַ֖רva.'o.MarH559.So the LORDיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to meאֵלַ֗י'e.LaiH413, “The endהַקֵּץ֙ha.KetzH7093has comeבָּ֤אba'H935forאֶל־'el-H413My peopleעַמִּ֣י'a.MiH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478;I will noלֹא־lo'-H3808longerאוֹסִ֥יף ע֖וֹד'o.Sif odH3254 H5750spareעֲב֥וֹרa.VorH5674them.”

3“In thatהַה֔וּאha.Hu'H1931dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117,”declaresנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהוִ֑הYah.wehH3069, “the songsשִׁיר֤וֹתshi.RotH7892of the templeהֵיכָל֙hei.KhalH1964will turn to wailingוְהֵילִ֜ילוּve.hei.Li.luH3213.Manyרַ֣בravH7227will bethe corpsesהַפֶּ֔גֶרha.Pe.gerH6297,strewnהִשְׁלִ֥יךְhish.LikhH7993in silenceהָֽס׃ פHasH2013everywhereבְּכָל־ מָק֖וֹםbe.khol ma.KomH3605 H4725!”

7The LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068has swornנִשְׁבַּ֥עnish.Ba'H7650by the Prideבִּגְא֣וֹןbig.'onH1347of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290: “I will neverאִם־ לָנֶ֖צַח'im- la.Ne.tzachH518 H5331forgetאֶשְׁכַּ֥ח'esh.KachH7911anyכָּל־kol-H3605of their deedsמַעֲשֵׂיהֶֽם׃ma.'a.sei.HemH4639.

9וְהָיָ֣ה׀ve.ha.YahH1961And in thatהַה֗וּאha.Hu'H1931dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117,declaresנְאֻם֙ne.'UmH5002the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהוִ֔הYah.wehH3069,I will make the sunהַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁha.She.meshH8121go downוְהֵבֵאתִ֥יve.he.ve.TiH935at noonבַּֽצָּהֳרָ֑יִםba.tzo.ho.Ra.yimH6672,and I will darkenוְהַחֲשַׁכְתִּ֥יve.ha.cha.shakh.TiH2821the earthלָאָ֖רֶץla.'A.retzH776in the daytimeבְּי֥וֹם אֽוֹר׃be.Yom 'orH3117 H216.

11Beholdהִנֵּ֣ה׀hi.NehH2009,the daysיָמִ֣יםya.MimH3117are comingבָּאִ֗יםba.'ImH935,declaresנְאֻם֙ne.'UmH5002the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GODיְהוִ֔הYah.wehH3069,when I will sendוְהִשְׁלַחְתִּ֥יve.hish.lach.TiH7971a famineרָעָ֖בra.'AvH7458on the landבָּאָ֑רֶץba.'A.retzH776—notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808a famineרָעָ֤בra.'AvH7458of breadלַלֶּ֙חֶם֙ וְלֹֽא־la.Le.chem ve.lo'-H3899 H3808or a thirstצָמָ֣אtza.Ma'H6772for waterלַמַּ֔יִםla.Ma.yimH4325,butכִּ֣י אִם־ki 'im-H3588 H518a famineof hearingלִשְׁמֹ֔עַlish.Mo.a'H8085אֵ֖ת'etH853the wordsדִּבְרֵ֥יdiv.ReiH1697of the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

13In thatהַה֜וּאha.Hu'H1931dayבַּיּ֨וֹםbai.YomH3117the lovelyהַיָּפ֛וֹתhai.ya.FotH3303young womenהַבְּתוּלֹ֧תha.be.tu.LotH1330—the young men as wellוְהַבַּחוּרִ֖יםve.ha.ba.chu.RimH970—will faintתִּ֠תְעַלַּפְנָהTit.'a.laf.nahH5968from thirstבַּצָּמָֽא׃ba.tza.Ma'H6772.

14Those who swearהַנִּשְׁבָּעִים֙ha.nish.ba.'ImH7650by the guiltבְּאַשְׁמַ֣תbe.'ash.MatH819of Samariaשֹֽׁמְר֔וֹןsho.me.RonH8111and sayוְאָמְר֗וּve.'a.me.RuH559, ‘As surely as your godאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430livesחֵ֤יcheiH2416,O Danדָּ֔ןDanH1835,’or, ‘As surely as the wayדֶּ֣רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of BeershebaH884livesוְחֵ֖יve.CheiH2416’—they will fallוְנָפְל֖וּve.na.fe.LuH5307,neverוְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808to riseיָק֥וּמוּya.Ku.muH6965againעֽוֹד׃ סodH5750.”
