31Then Davidדָּוִ֨ד אֶל־da.Vid 'el-H1732H413orderedוַיֹּאמֶר֩vai.yo.MerH559Joabיוֹאָ֜ב וְאֶל־yo.'Av ve.'el-H3097H413and allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834with himאִתּ֗וֹ'i.ToH854, “Tearקִרְע֤וּkir.'UH7167your clothesבִגְדֵיכֶם֙vig.dei.KhemH899,put onוְחִגְר֣וּve.chig.RuH2296sackclothשַׂקִּ֔יםsa.KimH8242,and mournוְסִפְד֖וּve.sif.DuH5594beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440Abnerאַבְנֵ֑ר'av.NerH74.”And Kingוְהַמֶּ֣לֶךְve.ha.Me.lekhH4428David himselfדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732walkedהֹלֵ֖ךְho.LekhH1980behindאַחֲרֵ֥י'a.cha.ReiH310the funeral bierהַמִּטָּֽה׃ha.mi.TahH4296.
32When they buriedוַיִּקְבְּר֥וּvai.yik.be.RuH6912אֶת־'et-H853Abnerאַבְנֵ֖ר'av.NerH74in Hebronבְּחֶבְר֑וֹןbe.chev.RonH2275,the kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428אֶת־'et-H853weptוַיֵּבְךְּ֙vai.ye.veKH1058aloudוַיִשָּׂ֧א קוֹל֗וֹva.yi.Sa' ko.LoH5375H6963atאֶל־'el-H413Abner’sאַבְנֵ֔ר'av.NerH74tombקֶ֣בֶרKe.verH6913,and allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָֽם׃ פha.'AmH5971weptוַיִּבְכּ֖וּvai.yiv.KuH1058.
34Your handsיָדֶ֣ךָya.De.khaH3027were notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808boundאֲסֻר֗וֹת'a.su.RotH631,your feetוְרַגְלֶ֙יךָ֙ve.rag.Lei.khaH7272were notלֹא־lo'-H3808fetteredלִנְחֻשְׁתַּ֣יִם הֻגָּ֔שׁוּlin.chush.Ta.yim hu.Ga.shuH5178H5066.As a man fallsכִּנְפ֛וֹלkin.FolH5307beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the wickedבְנֵֽי־ עַוְלָ֖הve.nei- 'av.LahH1121H5766, so alsoyou fellנָפָ֑לְתָּna.Fal.taH5307.”And allכָל־khol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971weptלִבְכּ֥וֹתliv.KotH1058over himעָלָֽיו׃'a.LavH5921even moreוַיֹּסִ֥פוּvai.yo.Si.fuH3254.
35Then allכָל־khol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֗םha.'AmH5971cameוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935and urged Davidדָּוִ֛דda.VidH1732to eatלְהַבְר֧וֹתle.hav.RotH1262אֶת־'et-H853somethingלֶ֖חֶםLe.chemH3899while it was stillבְּע֣וֹדbe.'odH5750dayהַיּ֑וֹםhai.YomH3117,but Davidדָּוִ֜דda.VidH1732took an oathוַיִּשָּׁבַ֨עvai.yi.sha.Va'H7650,sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559, “May Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430punishכֹּ֣ה יַעֲשֶׂה־koh ya.'a.seh-H3541H6213me,and ever soוְכֹ֣הve.KhohH3541severelyיֹסִ֔יף כִּ֣יyo.Sif kiH3254H3588,ifאִם־'im-H518I tasteאֶטְעַם־'et.'am-H2938breadלֶ֖חֶםLe.chemH3899orא֥וֹ'oH176anything elseכָל־ מְאֽוּמָה׃khol- me.'U.mahH3605H3972beforeלִפְנֵ֧יlif.NeiH6440the sunהַשֶּׁ֛מֶשׁha.She.meshH8121setsבֽוֹא־Vo'-H935!”
36Allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971took noteהִכִּ֔ירוּhi.Ki.ruH5234andוַיִּיטַ֖בvai.yi.TavH3190were pleasedבְּעֵֽינֵיהֶ֑םbe.'ei.nei.HemH5869.In fact, everythingכְּכֹל֙ke.KholH3605אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428didעָשָׂ֣ה'a.SahH6213pleasedבְּעֵינֵ֥יbe.'ei.NeiH5869themכָל־ הָעָ֖ם טֽוֹב׃khol- ha.'Am TovH3605H5971H2895.
37So on thatהַה֑וּאha.Hu'H1931dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117allכָל־khol-H3605the troopsהָעָ֛םha.'AmH5971and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478were convincedוַיֵּדְע֧וּvai.ye.de.'UH3045thatכִּ֣יkiH3588the kingמֵֽהַמֶּ֔לֶךְme.ha.Me.lekhH4428had noלֹ֤אlo'H3808partהָיְתָה֙ha.ye.TahH1961in the murderלְהָמִ֖יתle.ha.MitH4191אֶת־'et-H853of Abnerאַבְנֵ֥ר'av.NerH74sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Nerנֵֽר׃ פNerH5369.
38Then the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413his servantsעֲבָדָ֑יו'a.va.DavH5650, “Do you notהֲל֣וֹאha.Lo'H3808realizeתֵדְע֔וּte.de.'UH3045thatכִּי־ki-H3588a greatוְגָד֗וֹלve.ga.DolH1419princeשַׂ֣רsarH8269has fallenנָפַ֛לna.FalH5307todayהַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֖הhai.Yom ha.ZehH3117H2088in Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃be.Yis.ra.'ElH3478?
39And Iוְאָנֹכִ֨יve.'a.no.KhiH595amweakרַךְ֙raKhH7390this dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117,though anointedוּמָשׁ֣וּחַu.ma.Shu.achH4886as kingמֶ֔לֶךְMe.lekhH4428,and theseהָאֵ֛לֶּהha.'E.lehH428menוְהָאֲנָשִׁ֥יםve.ha.'a.na.ShimH582,the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Zeruiahצְרוּיָ֖הtze.ru.YahH6870,are too fierceקָשִׁ֣יםka.ShimH7186for meמִמֶּ֑נִּיmi.Me.niH4480.May the LORDיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068repayיְשַׁלֵּ֧םye.sha.LemH7999the evildoerלְעֹשֵׂ֥ה הָרָעָ֖הle.'o.Seh ha.ra.'AhH6213H7451according to his evilכְּרָעָתֽוֹ׃ פke.ra.'a.ToH7451!”
