5So Amasaעֲמָשָׂ֖א'a.ma.Sa'H6021wentוַיֵּ֥לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980to summonלְהַזְעִ֣יקle.haz.'IkH2199אֶת־'et-H853Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,but he took longerוַיּ֕וֹחֶרvai.yi.cherH309thanמִן־min-H4480the timeהַמּוֹעֵ֖דha.mo.'EdH4150אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834allotted himיְעָדֽוֹ׃ סye.'a.DoH3259.

7So Joab’sיוֹאָ֔בyo.'AvH3097menאַנְשֵׁ֣י'an.SheiH582וַיֵּצְא֤וּvai.ye.tze.'UH3318אַֽחֲרָיו֙'a.cha.RavH310,along with the Cherethitesוְהַכְּרֵתִ֥יve.ha.ke.re.TiH3774,the Pelethitesוְהַפְּלֵתִ֖יve.ha.pe.le.TiH6432,and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the mighty menהַגִּבֹּרִ֑יםha.gi.bo.RimH1368,marched out ofוַיֵּֽצְאוּ֙vai.ye.tze.'UH3318Jerusalemמִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םmi.Ru.sha.LimH3389in pursuitלִרְדֹּ֕ף אַחֲרֵ֖יlir.Dof 'a.cha.ReiH7291 H310of Shebaשֶׁ֥בַעShe.va'H7652sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Bichriבִּכְרִֽי׃bikh.RiH1075.

11Oneוְאִישׁ֙ve.'IshH376of Joab’sיוֹאָ֑בyo.'AvH3097young menמִֽנַּעֲרֵ֖יmi.na.'a.ReiH5288stoodעָמַ֣ד'a.MadH5975near Amasaעָלָ֔יו'a.LavH5921and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Whoeverמִי֩miH4310אֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834favorsחָפֵ֧ץcha.FetzH2654Joabבְּיוֹאָ֛בbe.yo.'AvH3097,and whoeverוּמִ֥יu.MiH4310אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834is for Davidלְדָוִ֖דle.da.VidH1732, let himfollowאַחֲרֵ֥י'a.cha.ReiH310Joabיוֹאָֽב׃yo.'AvH3097!”

12But Amasaוַעֲמָשָׂ֛אva.'a.ma.Sa'H6021wallowedמִתְגֹּלֵ֥לmit.go.LelH1556in his bloodבַּדָּ֖םba.DamH1818in the middleבְּת֣וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of the roadהַֽמְסִלָּ֑הha.me.si.LahH4546,and when the manהָאִ֜ישׁha.'IshH376sawוַיַּ֨רְאvai.Yar'H7200thatכִּֽי־ki-H3588allכָּל־kol-H3605the troopsהָעָ֗םha.'AmH5971were stopping thereעָמַ֣ד'a.MadH5975,he draggedוַיַּסֵּב֩vai.ya.SevH5437אֶת־'et-H853the bodyעֲמָשָׂ֨א'a.ma.Sa'H6021offמִן־min-H4480the roadהַֽמְסִלָּ֤הham.si.LahH4546into a fieldהַשָּׂדֶה֙ha.sa.DehH7704and threwוַיַּשְׁלֵ֤ךְvai.yash.LekhH7993a garmentבֶּ֔גֶדBe.gedH899over itעָלָיו֙'a.LavH5921כַּאֲשֶׁ֣רka.'a.SherH834רָאָ֔הra.'AhH7200כָּל־kol-H3605הַבָּ֥אha.Ba'H935עָלָ֖יו'a.LavH5921וְעָמָֽד׃ve.'a.MadH5975.
