14Sheba passedוַֽיַּעֲבֹ֞רvai.ya.'a.VorH5674through allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605the tribesשִׁבְטֵ֣יshiv.TeiH7626of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478to Abel-beth-maacahH59 H1038and through the entireוְכָל־ve.kholH3605region ofthe Beritesהַבֵּרִ֑ים סha.be.RimH1276,who gathered togetherH7034and followedוַיָּבֹ֖אוּ אַף־vai.ya.Vo.'u 'af-H935 H637himאַחֲרָֽיו׃'a.cha.RavH310.

17When he had come nearוַיִּקְרַ֣בvai.yik.RavH7126to herאֵלֶ֔יהָ'e.Lei.haH413,the womanהָאִשָּׁ֛הha.'i.ShahH802askedוַתֹּ֧אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Are youהַאַתָּ֥הha.'a.TahH859Joabיוֹאָ֖בyo.'AvH3097?” “Iאָ֑נִי'A.niH589am,”he repliedוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559. “Listenשְׁמַע֙she.Ma'H8085to the wordsדִּבְרֵ֣יdiv.ReiH1697of your servantאֲמָתֶ֔ךָ'a.ma.Te.khaH519,”she saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559. “I amאָנֹֽכִי׃'a.No.khiH595listeningשֹׁמֵ֥עַsho.Me.a'H8085,”he answeredוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559.

18Then the woman saidH559, “Long agoבָרִֽאשֹׁנָה֙va.ri.sho.NahH7223 H559they used to sayH1696, ‘Seek counselH7592at Abelבְּאָבֵ֖לbe.'a.VelH59,’and that is howוְכֵ֥ןve.KhenH3651disputes were settledהֵתַֽמּוּ׃he.Ta.muH8552.

19Iאָנֹכִ֕י'a.no.KhiH595am among thepeaceableשְׁלֻמֵ֖יshe.lu.MeiH7999andfaithfulאֱמוּנֵ֣י'e.mu.NeiH529in Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,but you areאַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH859tryingמְבַקֵּ֗שׁme.va.KeshH1245to destroyלְהָמִ֨יתle.ha.MitH4191a cityעִ֤יר'irH5892that is a motherוְאֵם֙ve.'EmH517in Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לbe.Yis.ra.'ElH3478.Whyלָ֥מָּהLa.mahH4100would you swallow upתְבַלַּ֖עte.va.La'H1104the LORD’sיְהוָֽה׃ פYah.wehH3068inheritanceנַחֲלַ֥תna.cha.LatH5159?”

20“Far be itחָלִ֤ילָהcha.Li.lahH2486!”Joabיוֹאָ֖בyo.'AvH3097declaredוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559וַיַּ֥עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030. “Far be itחָלִ֙ילָה֙cha.Li.lahH2486from metoאִם־'im-H518swallow upאֲבַלַּ֖ע'a.va.La'H1104orוְאִם־ve.'im-H518destroyאַשְׁחִֽית׃'ash.ChitH7843!

22Then the womanהָאִשָּׁ֨הha.'i.ShahH802wentוַתָּבוֹא֩va.ta.Vo'H935toאֶל־'el-H413allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֜םha.'AmH5971with her wise counselבְּחָכְמָתָ֗הּbe.cha.khe.ma.TahH2451,and they cut offוַֽיִּכְרְת֞וּvai.yikh.re.TuH3772אֶת־'et-H853the headרֹ֨אשׁroshH7218of Shebaשֶׁ֤בַעShe.va'H7652sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Bichriבִּכְרִי֙bikh.RiH1075and threwוַיַּשְׁלִ֣כוּvai.yash.Li.khuH7993it toאֶל־'el-H413Joabיוֹאָ֔בyo.'AvH3097.So he blewוַיִּתְקַע֙vai.yit.Ka'H8628the ram’s hornבַּשּׁוֹפָ֔רba.sho.FarH7782and his men dispersedוַיָּפֻ֥צוּvai.ya.Fu.tzuH6327fromמֵֽעַל־me.'al-H5921the cityהָעִ֖ירha.'IrH5892,eachאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376to his own homeלְאֹהָלָ֑יוle.'o.ha.LavH168.And Joabוְיוֹאָ֛בve.yo.'AvH3097returnedשָׁ֥בshavH7725toאֶל־'el-H413the kingהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ סha.Me.lekhH4428in Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389.
