23Then Kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֔הshe.lo.MohH8010sworeוַיִּשָּׁבַע֙vai.yi.sha.Va'H7650by the LORDבַּֽיהוָ֖ה לֵאמֹ֑רba.Yah.weh le.MorH3068H559: “May Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430punishכֹּ֣ה יַֽעֲשֶׂה־koh ya.'a.seh-H3541H6213me,and ever soוְכֹ֣הve.KhohH3541severelyיוֹסִ֔יףyo.SifH3254,ifכִּ֣יkiH3588Adonijahאֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ'a.Do.ni.Ya.huH138אֶת־'et-H853has not madeדִּבֶּר֙di.BerH1696thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088requestהַדָּבָ֖רha.da.VarH1697at the expense of his lifeבְנַפְשׁ֔וֹve.naf.ShoH5315.
24And nowוְעַתָּ֗הve.'a.TahH6258,as surely as the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068livesחַי־chai-H2416—the Oneאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834who established meהֱכִינַ֗נִיhe.khi.Na.niH3559,who set meוַיּֽוֹשִׁיבַ֙נִי֙vai.yo.shi.vi.niH3427onעַל־'al-H5921the throneכִּסֵּא֙ki.Se'H3678of my fatherאָבִ֔י'a.ViH1Davidדָּוִ֣דda.VidH1732,and who foundedעָֽשָׂה־'a.sah-H6213for mea dynastyבַּ֖יִתBa.yitH1004וַאֲשֶׁ֧רva.'a.SherH834asכַּאֲשֶׁ֣רka.'a.SherH834He promisedדִּבֵּ֑רdi.BerH1696—surelyכִּ֣יkiH3588Adonijahאֲדֹנִיָּֽהוּ׃'a.do.ni.Ya.huH138shall be put to deathיוּמַ֖תyu.MatH4191todayהַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117!”
25So Kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֔הshe.lo.MohH8010gave ordersוַיִּשְׁלַח֙vai.yish.LachH7971toבְּיַ֖דbe.YadH3027Benaiahבְּנָיָ֣הוּbe.na.Ya.huH1141sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָ֑עye.ho.ya.Da'H3077,and he struck downוַיִּפְגַּע־vai.yif.ga'-H6293Adonijahand he diedוַיָּמֹֽת׃ סvai.ya.MotH4191.
