9However, while Elahוְה֤וּאve.Hu'H1931was in Tirzahבְתִרְצָה֙ve.tir.TzahH8656getting drunkשֹׁתֶ֣ה שִׁכּ֔וֹרsho.Teh shi.KorH8354 H7910in the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Arzaאַרְצָ֔א'ar.Tza'H777אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834the stewardעָלָיו֙'a.LavH5921of his householdהַבַּ֖יִתha.Ba.yitH1004thereבְּתִרְצָֽה׃be.tir.TzahH8656, Elah’sservantעַבְדּ֣וֹav.DoH5650Zimriזִמְרִ֔יzim.RiH2174,the commanderשַׂ֖רsarH8269of halfמַחֲצִ֣יתma.cha.TzitH4276his chariotsהָרָ֑כֶבha.Ra.khevH7393,conspiredוַיִּקְשֹׁ֤רvai.yik.ShorH7194against himעַל־'al-H5921.

10So in the twenty-seventhעֶשְׂרִ֣ים וָשֶׁ֔בַע'es.Rim va.She.va'H6242 H7651yearבִּשְׁנַת֙bish.NatH8141of Asa’sלְאָסָ֖אle.'a.Sa'H609reignמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428over Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,Zimriזִמְרִי֙zim.RiH2174went inוַיָּבֹ֤אvai.ya.Vo'H935,struck Elah downוַיַּכֵּ֣הוּvai.ya.Ke.huH5221,and killed himוַיְמִיתֵ֔הוּvay.mi.Te.huH4191.And Zimri reignedוַיִּמְלֹ֖ךְvai.yim.LokhH4427in his placeתַּחְתָּֽיו׃tach.TavH8478.

11As soon asוַיְהִ֨יvay.HiH1961Zimribegan to reignבְמָלְכ֜וֹve.ma.le.KhoH4427and was seatedכְּשִׁבְתּ֣וֹke.shiv.ToH3427onעַל־'al-H5921the throneכִּסְא֗וֹkis.'OH3678,he struck downהִכָּה֙hi.KahH5221אֶת־'et-H853the entireכָּל־kol-H3605householdבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֔אba'.Sha'H1201.He did notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808leaveהִשְׁאִ֥ירhish.'IrH7604a single maleמַשְׁתִּ֣ין בְּקִ֑ירmash.Tin be.KirH8366 H7023,whether a kinsmanוְגֹאֲלָ֖יוve.go.'a.LavH1350or friendוְרֵעֵֽהוּ׃ve.re.'E.huH7453.

12So Zimriזִמְרִ֔יzim.RiH2174אֵ֖ת'etH853destroyedוַיַּשְׁמֵ֣דvai.yash.MedH8045the entireכָּל־kol-H3605householdבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֑אba'.Sha'H1201,according to the wordכִּדְבַ֤רkid.VarH1697thatאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068had spokenדִּבֶּ֣רdi.BerH1696againstאֶל־'el-H413Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֔אba'.Sha'H1201throughבְּיַ֖דbe.YadH3027Jehuיֵה֥וּאye.Hu'H3058the prophetהַנָּבִֽיא׃ha.na.Vi'H5030.

13This happened because ofאֶ֚ל'elH413allכָּל־kol-H3605the sinsחַטֹּ֣אותcha.TotH2403Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֔אba'.Sha'H1201andוְחַטֹּ֖אותve.cha.TotH2403his sonבְנ֑וֹve.NoH1121Elahאֵלָ֣ה'e.LahH425אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834had committedחָטְא֗וּcha.te.'UH2398וַאֲשֶׁ֤רva.'a.SherH834and had caused Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478to commitהֶחֱטִ֙יאוּ֙he.che.Ti.'uH2398אֶת־'et-H853,provokingלְהַכְעִ֗יסle.hakh.'IsH3707אֶת־'et-H853the LORDיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israel, to angerיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478with their worthless idolsבְּהַבְלֵיהֶֽם׃be.hav.lei.HemH1892.

17Then Omriעָמְרִ֛י'a.me.RiH6018andעִמּ֖וֹi.MoH5973allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the Israelitesיִשְׂרָאֵ֥לYis.ra.'ElH3478marched upוַיַּעֲלֶ֥הvai.ya.'a.LehH5927from Gibbethonמִֽגִּבְּת֑וֹןmi.gi.be.TonH1405and besiegedוַיָּצֻ֖רוּ עַל־vai.ya.Tzu.ru 'al-H6696 H5921Tirzahתִּרְצָֽה׃tir.TzahH8656.

18וַיְהִ֞יvay.HiH1961When Zimriזִמְרִי֙zim.RiH2174sawכִּרְא֤וֹתkir.'otH7200thatכִּֽי־ki-H3588the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892was capturedנִלְכְּדָ֣הnil.ke.DahH3920,he enteredוַיָּבֹ֖א אֶל־vai.ya.Vo' 'el-H935 H413the citadelאַרְמ֣וֹן'ar.MonH759of the royalהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428palaceבֵּית־beit-H1004בֵּֽית־beit-H1004מֶ֛לֶךְMe.lekhH4428and burned it downוַיִּשְׂרֹ֨ף בָּאֵ֖שׁvai.yis.Rof ba.'EshH8313 H784upon himselfעָלָ֧יו'a.LavH5921אֶת־'et-H853.So he diedוַיָּמֹֽת׃vai.ya.MotH4191
