16and the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971in the campהַחֹנִ֣ים לֵאמֹ֔רha.cho.Nim le.MorH2583 H559heardוַיִּשְׁמַ֤עvai.yish.Ma'H8085that Zimriזִמְרִ֔יzim.RiH2174had conspiredקָשַׁ֣רka.SharH7194אֶת־'et-H853against the kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428andוְגַ֖םve.GamH1571struck him downהִכָּ֣הhi.KahH5221.So there in the campבַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃Ba.ma.cha.NehH4264that veryהַה֖וּאha.Hu'H1931dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117,allכָֽל־khol-H3605Israelיִ֠שְׂרָאֵלYis.ra.'elH3478אֶת־'et-H853proclaimed Omriעָמְרִ֨י'a.me.RiH6018,the commanderשַׂר־sar-H8269of the armyצָבָ֧אtza.Va'H6635,kingוַיַּמְלִ֣כוּvai.yam.Li.khuH4427overעַל־'al-H5921Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478.

17Then Omriעָמְרִ֛י'a.me.RiH6018andעִמּ֖וֹi.MoH5973allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the Israelitesיִשְׂרָאֵ֥לYis.ra.'ElH3478marched upוַיַּעֲלֶ֥הvai.ya.'a.LehH5927from Gibbethonמִֽגִּבְּת֑וֹןmi.gi.be.TonH1405and besiegedוַיָּצֻ֖רוּ עַל־vai.ya.Tzu.ru 'al-H6696 H5921Tirzahתִּרְצָֽה׃tir.TzahH8656.

18וַיְהִ֞יvay.HiH1961When Zimriזִמְרִי֙zim.RiH2174sawכִּרְא֤וֹתkir.'otH7200thatכִּֽי־ki-H3588the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892was capturedנִלְכְּדָ֣הnil.ke.DahH3920,he enteredוַיָּבֹ֖א אֶל־vai.ya.Vo' 'el-H935 H413the citadelאַרְמ֣וֹן'ar.MonH759of the royalהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428palaceבֵּית־beit-H1004בֵּֽית־beit-H1004מֶ֛לֶךְMe.lekhH4428and burned it downוַיִּשְׂרֹ֨ף בָּאֵ֖שׁvai.yis.Rof ba.'EshH8313 H784upon himselfעָלָ֧יו'a.LavH5921אֶת־'et-H853.So he diedוַיָּמֹֽת׃vai.ya.MotH4191

19because ofעַל־'al-H5921the sinsחַטֹּאתָיו֙cha.ta.tovH2403אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834he had committedחָטָ֔אcha.Ta'H2398,doingלַעֲשׂ֥וֹתla.'a.SotH6213evilהָרַ֖עha.Ra'H7451in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068and followingלָלֶ֙כֶת֙la.Le.khetH1980the exampleבְּדֶ֣רֶךְbe.De.rekhH1870of Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֔םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379and the sinוּבְחַטָּאתוֹ֙u.ve.cha.ta.ToH2403אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834he had committedעָשָׂ֔ה'a.SahH6213and had caused Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478to commitלְהַחֲטִ֖יאle.ha.cha.Ti'H2398אֶת־'et-H853.
