Jeremiah 9:10-21

10ForthemountainswillItakeupaweepingandwailing,andforthepasturesofthewildernessalamentation,becausetheyareburnedup,sothatnone passeth through; neither can men hearthevoiceofthecattle; boththebirdsoftheheavensandthebeastsarefled,theyaregone.

11AndIwillmakeJerusalem heaps,adwelling-placeofjackals;andIwillmakethecitiesofJudahadesolation,withoutinhabitant.

12Whoisthewise man,thatmayunderstandthis?andwhoishetowhomthemouthofJehovahhathspoken,thathemaydeclareit? whereforeisthelandperishedandburneduplikeawilderness,sothatnonepasseththrough?

13AndJehovah saith,BecausetheyhaveforsakenmylawwhichIsetbeforethem,andhavenot obeyedmyvoice, neither walked therein,

14buthavewalked afterthestubbornnessoftheirown heart,andaftertheBaalim,whichtheirfathers taughtthem;

15thereforethussaith Jehovahofhosts,theGodofIsrael,Behold,Iwillfeedthem,eventhispeople,withwormwood,andgivethemwaterofgalltodrink.

16Iwillscatterthemalsoamongthenations,whomneithertheynortheirfathershaveknown;andIwillsendH7971theswordafterthem, tillIhaveconsumedthem.

17Thus saith Jehovahofhosts,Considerye,andcallforthemourning women,thattheymaycomeH3381;andsendfortheskilful women,thattheymaycomeH3381:

18andletthemmakeH8085haste,andtakeupawailingH5092forus,thatoureyesmayrundownwithtears,andoureyelids gushoutwithwaters.

19ForavoiceofwailingH5092isheardH8085outofZion,Howareweruined!wearegreatly confounded,becausewehaveforsakentheland,becausetheyhavecastdownourdwellings.

20YethearthewordofJehovah, O ye women,andletyourear receivethewordofhismouth;andteachyourdaughters wailing,andeveryoneherneighbor lamentation.

21Fordeathiscomeupintoourwindows,itisenteredintoourpalaces;tocutoffthechildrenfromwithout,andtheyoungmenH120fromthestreets.
