Jeremiah 49:7-22
Of EdomH123. ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635: Is wisdomH2451 noH369 moreH5750 in TemanH8487? is counselH6098 perishedH6 from the prudentH995? is their wisdomH2451 vanished?
FleeH5127 ye, turnH6437 backH6437, dwellH3427 deepH6009, O inhabitantsH3427 of DedanH1719; for I will bringH935 the calamityH343 of EsauH6215 uponH5921 him, the time that I shall visitH6485 him.
IfH518 grapegatherers cameH935 to thee, would they notH3808 leaveH7604 someH5955 gleaningH5955 grapes? ifH518 thievesH1590 by nightH3915, would they notH3808 destroyH7843 till they had enoughH1767?
But I have madeH1540 EsauH6215 bareH1540, I have uncoveredH1540 his secretH4565 placesH4565, and he shall notH3808 be ableH3201 to hideH2247 himselfH1540: his seedH2233 is spoiled, and his brethrenH251, and his neighbours, and he is notH3808.
LeaveH5800 thy fatherlessH3490 childrenH3490, I will preserveH2421 them aliveH2421; and let thy widowsH490 trustH982 in meH5921.
For thusH3541 saith the LORDH3068: BeholdH2009, they to whomH834 it pertained notH3808 to drinkH8354 of the cupH3563 shall assuredly drinkH8354; and art thou he that shall altogether goH5352 unpunishedH5352? thou shalt notH3808 goH5352 unpunishedH5352, but thou shalt surelyH3588 drinkH8354.
For I have swornH7650 by myself, saith the LORDH3068, that BozrahH1224 shall becomeH1961 an astonishment, a reproachH2781, a wasteH2723, and a curseH7045; and allH3605 the citiesH5892 thereof shall be perpetualH5769 wastesH2723.
I have heardH8085 tidingsH8052 from the LORDH3068, and an ambassador is sentH7971 among the nationsH1471, saying, GatherH6908 yourselves togetherH6908, and comeH935 againstH5921 herH7971, and riseH6965 upH6965 to the battleH4421.
For, beholdH2009, I have madeH5414 thee smallH6996 among the nationsH1471, and despisedH959 among menH120.
As for thy terribleness, the prideH2087 of thine heartH3820 hath deceived thee, O thou that dwellest in the cleftsH2288 of the rockH5553, that holdest the heightH4791 of the hillH1389: thoughH3588 thou shouldest makeH3588 thy nestH7064 as highH4791 as the eagleH5404, I will bringH3381 thee downH3381 from thence, saith the LORDH3068;
And EdomH123 shall becomeH1961 an astonishment: everyH3605 one that passeth by it shall he astonishedH8074, and shall hissH8319 at allH3605 the plaguesH4347 thereof.
As in the overthrowH4114 of SodomH5467 and GomorrahH6017 and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORDH3068, noH3808 manH376 shall dwellH3427 there, neitherH3808 shall anyH376 sonH1121 of manH376 sojourn therein.
BeholdH2009, he shall comeH5927 upH5927 like a lionH738 from the prideH1347 of JordanH3383 againstH5921 the strong habitation: but I will suddenlyH2009 makeH3588 him runH7323 awayH5927 from herH413; and whoso is chosenH977, him will I appointH6485 over herH413: for who is like meH413? and who will appointH6485 meH413 a time? and who is the shepherdH7462 that will standH5975 beforeH6440 meH413?
Therefore hearH8085 ye the counselH6098 of the LORDH3068, that he hath takenH3427 againstH5921 EdomH123; and his purposesH4284, that he hath purposedH2803 againstH5921 the inhabitantsH3427 of TemanH8487: SurelyH518 they shall dragH5498 them away, evenH3808 the littleH6810 onesH6810 of the flockH6629; surelyH518 he shall makeH8074 their habitation desolateH8074 with them.
The earthH776 trembleth at the noiseH6963 of their fallH5307; there is a cryH6818, the noiseH6963 whereof is heardH8085 in the Red SeaH3220.
BeholdH2009, he shall comeH1961 upH5927 and flyH1675 as the eagleH5404, and spreadH6566 outH5921 his wingsH3671 againstH5921 BozrahH1224: and the heartH3820 of the mightyH1368 menH1368 of EdomH123 at that dayH3117 shall be as the heartH3820 of a womanH802 in herH5921 pangs.
