Revised Version 1895
Samuel 15:19-23
wherefore then didst thou notH3808 obeyH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068, but didst fly uponH413 the spoilH7998, and didst that whichH5869 was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068?
And SaulH7586 saidH559 unto SamuelH8050, Yea, I have obeyedH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068, and have goneH935 the wayH1870 whichH834 the LORDH3068 sentH7971 meH413, and have broughtH935 AgagH90 the kingH4428 of AmalekH6002, and have utterly destroyed the AmalekitesH6002.
But the peopleH5971 tookH3947 of the spoilH7998, sheepH6629 and oxenH1241, the chief of the devotedH2764 things, to sacrificeH2076 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 in GilgalH1537.
And SamuelH8050 saidH559, Hath the LORDH3068 as greatH2896 delightH2656 in burntH5930 offeringsH3068 and sacrificesH2077, as in obeyingH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068? BeholdH2009, to obeyH8085 is betterH2896 thanH2896 sacrificeH2077, and to hearken thanH2896 the fatH2459 of ramsH352.
For rebellionH4805 is as the sinH2403 of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatryH8655 and teraphimH8655. BecauseH3588 thou hast rejectedH3988 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, he hath also rejectedH3988 thee from being kingH4428.
