2And SaulH7586 choseH977 him threeH7969 thousandH505 menH376 of IsraelH3478; whereof two thousandH505 were with SaulH7586 in MichmashH4363 and in the mountH2022 of Beth-el, and a thousandH505 were with JonathanH3129 in GibeahH1390 of BenjaminH1144: and the restH3499 of the peopleH5971 he sentH7971 everyH376 manH376 to his tentH168.

4And allH3605 IsraelH3478 heardH8085 sayH559 that SaulH7586 had smittenH5221 the garrisonH5333 of the PhilistinesH6430, and that IsraelH3478 also was had in abomination with the PhilistinesH6430. And the peopleH5971 were gathered togetherH1571 afterH310 SaulH7586 to GilgalH1537.

6When the menH376 of IsraelH3478 sawH7200 that they were in a strait, (for the peopleH5971 were distressed,) then the peopleH5971 didH376 hideH2244 themselvesH2244 in cavesH4631, and in thickets, and in rocksH5553, and in holds, and in pitsH953.
7NowH310 someH3605 of the HebrewsH5680 had gone over JordanH3383 to the landH776 of GadH1410 and GileadH1568; but as for SaulH7586, he was yet in GilgalH1537, and allH3605 the peopleH5971 followedH310 him tremblingH2729.
