Deuteronomy 20:10-20

10When thou drawest nigh unto acityעִ֔יר'IrH5892tofightלְהִלָּחֵ֖םle.hi.la.ChemH3898againstעָלֶ֑יהָ'a.Lei.haH5921it, thenproclaimוְקָרָ֥אתָve.ka.Ra.taH7121peaceלְשָׁלֽוֹם׃le.sha.LomH7965unto it.

11And it shall be,ifאִם־'im-H518itmakeH5647theeanswerתַּֽעַנְךָ֔ta.'an.KhaH6030ofpeaceשָׁל֣וֹםsha.LomH7965, andopenוּפָתְחָ֖הu.fa.te.ChahH6605unto thee, then it shall be, thatallכָּל־kol-H3605thepeopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971that isfoundהַנִּמְצָא־ha.nim.tza'-H4672therein shallbecomeH1961tributary unto thee, and shallserveוַעֲבָדֽוּךָ׃va.'a.va.Du.khaH5647thee.

12Andifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518it willmakeוְעָשְׂתָ֥הve.'a.se.TahH6213noלֹ֤אlo'H3808peace with thee, but willmakeH6213warמִלְחָמָ֑הmil.cha.MahH4421againstעָלֶֽיהָ׃'a.Lei.haH5921thee, then thou shalt besiege it:

13and when theLORDיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068thyGodאֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430delivereth itintoH3027thinehandבְּיָדֶ֑ךָbe.ya.De.khaH3027, thou shaltsmiteוְהִכִּיתָ֥ve.hi.ki.TaH5221everyכָּל־kol-H3605male thereof with theedgeלְפִי־le.fi-H6310of theswordחָֽרֶב׃Cha.revH2719:

16But of thecitiesמֵעָרֵ֤יme.'a.ReiH5892oftheseהָאֵ֔לֶּהha.'E.lehH428peoplesהָֽעַמִּים֙ha.'a.MimH5971,whichאֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834theLORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068thyGodאֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430giveth thee for aninheritanceנַחֲלָ֑הna.cha.LahH5159, thou shalt savealiveתְחַיֶּ֖הte.chai.YehH2421nothingלֹ֥אlo'H3808that breatheth:
