2 Samuel 5:5-9
5At HebronH2275 1he reignedH4427 overH5921 JudahH3063 for sevenH7651 yearsH8141 and sixH8337 monthsH2320, and in JerusalemH3389 he reignedH4427 for thirty-threeH7970H7969 yearsH8141 overH5921 allH3605 IsraelH3478 and JudahH3063.
62Now the kingH4428 and his menH376 wentH1980 to 3JerusalemH3389 againstH413 the JebusitesH2983, the inhabitantsH3427 of the landH776; and they saidH559 to 4DavidH1732, “You shall not comeH935 inH935 hereH2008, but even those who are blindH5787 and those who limpH6455 will turnH5493 you awayH5493,” 5thinkingH559, “DavidH1732 cannotH3808 enterH935 hereH2008.” 7Nevertheless, DavidH1732 capturedH3920 the strongholdH4686 of ZionH6726, that is, 6the cityH5892 of DavidH1732. 8And DavidH1732 saidH559 on that dayH3117, “WhoeverH3605 strikesH5221 the JebusitesH2983 is to reachH5060 those who limpH6455 and those who are blindH5787, who are hatedH8130 by David’sH1732 soulH5315, through the waterH6794 tunnelH6794.” For thatH3651 reasonH3651 they sayH559, “PeopleH5787 who are blindH5787 and peopleH6455 who limpH6455 shall not comeH935 into the houseH1004.” 9So DavidH1732 livedH3427 in the strongholdH4686, and calledH7121 it 7the cityH5892 of DavidH1732. And DavidH1732 builtH1129 allH5439 aroundH5439 from the 89MilloH4407 and inwardH1004.
