Revised Webster's Bible
2 Samuel 5:5-9
5In HebronH2275 he reignedH4427 over JudahH3063 sevenH7651 yearsH8141 and sixH8337 monthsH2320: and in JerusalemH3389 he reignedH4427 thirtyH7970 and threeH7969 yearsH8141 over all IsraelH3478 and JudahH3063.
6And the kingH4428 and his menH582 wentH3212 to JerusalemH3389 to the JebusitesH2983, the inhabitantsH3427 of the landH776: who spokeH559 to DavidH1732, sayingH559, Except thou shalt take awayH5493 the blindH5787 and the lameH6455, thou shalt not come inH935 here: thinkingH559, DavidH1732 cannot come inH935 there.1 7Nevertheless DavidH1732 tookH3920 the strong holdH4686 of ZionH6726: the same is the cityH5892 of DavidH1732. 8And DavidH1732 saidH559 on that dayH3117, Whoever getteth upH5060 to the gutterH6794, and smitethH5221 the JebusitesH2983, and the lameH6455 and the blindH5787, that are hatedH8130 by David’sH1732 soulH5315, he shall be chief and captain . Therefore they saidH559, The blindH5787 and the lameH6455 shall not comeH935 into the houseH1004.2 9So DavidH1732 dweltH3427 in the fortH4686, and calledH7121 it the cityH5892 of DavidH1732. And DavidH1732 builtH1129 aroundH5439 from MilloH4407 and inwardH1004.
