Romans 6:13-23

13and do not go on 1presenting 2the parts of your body to sin as 3instruments of unrighteousness; but 4present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and 5your body’s parts as 6instruments of righteousness for God. 14For 7sin shall not 8be master over you, for 9you are not under 10the Law but 11under grace.

15What then? 12Are we to sin because we are not under 13the Law but under grace? 1415Far from it! 16Do you not 16know that the one to whom you present yourselves as 17slaves for obedience, you are slaves of that same one whom you obey, either of 18sin 19resulting in death, or of obedience 20resulting in righteousness? 17But 21thanks be to God that 22though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that 2324form of teaching to which you were entrusted, 18and after being 25freed from sin, you became slaves to righteousness. 1926I am speaking 27in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just 28as you presented 29the parts of your body as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, 30resulting in further lawlessness, so now present 31your body’s parts as slaves to righteousness, 32resulting in sanctification.

20For 33when you were slaves of sin, you were free in relation to righteousness. 21Therefore what 3435benefit were you then 36deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is 37death. 22But now having been 38freed from sin and 39enslaved to God, you 40derive your 4142benefit, 43resulting in sanctification, and 44the outcome, eternal life. 23For the wages of 45sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is 46eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
