5‘As for thepromiseהַדָּבָ֞רha.da.VarH1697whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834Imadeכָּרַ֤תִּיka.Ra.tiH3772you when you cameH3318outH3318of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֔יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714, MySpiritוְרוּחִ֖יve.ru.ChiH7307remainsעֹמֶ֣דֶת'o.Me.detH5975in your midstבְּתוֹכְכֶ֑םbe.tokh.KhemH8432;do not fearתִּירָֽאוּ׃ סti.Ra.'uH3372!’

6For thisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of armiesצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559: ‘Onceאַחַ֖ת'a.ChatH259moreע֥וֹדodH5750in alittleמְעַ֣טme.'AtH4592whileH4592, I am going toshakeמַרְעִישׁ֙mar.'IshH7493the heavensהַשָּׁמַ֣יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064and the earthהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776,the seaהַיָּ֖םhai.YamH3220also and the dryהֶחָרָבָֽה׃he.cha.ra.VahH2724landH2724.

7I will shakeוְהִרְעַשְׁתִּי֙ve.hir.'ash.TiH7493allכָּל־kol-H3605the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471; andthey will comeוּבָ֖אוּu.Va.'uH935with thewealthחֶמְדַּ֣תchem.DatH2532of allכָּל־kol-H3605nationsהַגּוֹיִ֑םha.go.YimH1471, and I willfillוּמִלֵּאתִ֞יu.mi.le.TiH4390thisהַזֶּה֙ha.ZehH2088houseהַבַּ֤יִתha.Ba.yitH1004with gloryכָּב֔וֹדka.VodH3519,’saysאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of armiesצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635.

8‘Thesilverהַכֶּ֖סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701is Mine and the goldהַזָּהָ֑בha.za.HavH2091is Mine,’ declaresנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of armiesצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635.

11“The Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of armiesצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635saysH559thisכֹּ֥הkohH3541: ‘Nowנָ֧אna'H4994askשְׁאַל־she.'al-H7592the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֛יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548for arulingתּוֹרָ֖הto.RahH8451:

12Ifהֵ֣ן׀henH2005someoneאִ֨ישׁ'ishH376carriesיִשָּׂא־yi.sa'-H5375holyקֹ֜דֶשׁKo.deshH6944meatבְּשַׂר־be.sar-H1320in thefoldבִּכְנַ֣ףbikh.NafH3671of his garmentבִּגְד֗וֹbig.DoH899,and touchesוְנָגַ֣עve.na.Ga'H5060breadהַלֶּ֨חֶםha.Le.chemH3899withthis foldבִּ֠כְנָפוֹbikh.na.foH3671, or touchescookedH5138foodהַנָּזִ֜ידha.na.ZidH5138,wineהַיַּ֧יִןhai.Ya.yinH3196,oilשֶׁ֛מֶןShe.menH8081,or anyכָּל־kol-H3605otherfoodמַאֲכָ֖לma.'a.KhalH3978,will it becomeH6942holyהֲיִקְדָּ֑שׁha.yik.DashH6942?’”And the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֛יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548answeredוַיַּעֲנ֧וּvai.ya.'a.NuH6030, “Noלֹֽא׃Lo'H3808.”

13Then Haggaiחַגַּ֔יcha.GaiH2292saidH559, “Ifאִם־'im-H518one who is uncleanטְמֵא־te.me'-H2931from acorpseנֶ֛פֶשׁNe.feshH5315touchesיִגַּ֧עyi.Ga'H5060anyבְּכָל־be.kholH3605of theseאֵ֖לֶּה'E.lehH428things, will the latterbecomeהֲיִטְמָ֑אha.yit.Ma'H2930uncleanיִטְמָֽא׃yit.Ma'H2930?”And the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֛יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548answeredוַיַּעֲנ֧וּvai.ya.'a.NuH6030, “It will becomeH2930uncleanH2930.”

14Then Haggaiחַגַּ֜יcha.GaiH2292respondedוַיַּ֨עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “‘Soכֵּ֣ןkenH3651is thisהַ֠זֶּהHa.zehH2088peopleהָֽעָם־ha.'om-H5971.And soוְכֵן־ve.khen-H3651is thisהַזֶּ֤הha.ZehH2088nationהַגּ֨וֹיha.GoyH1471beforeלְפָנַי֙le.fa.NaiH6440Me,’ declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, ‘and soוְכֵ֖ןve.KhenH3651is everyכָּל־kol-H3605workמַעֲשֵׂ֣הma.'a.SehH4639of their handsיְדֵיהֶ֑םye.dei.HemH3027;and whatוַאֲשֶׁ֥רva.'a.SherH834they offerיַקְרִ֛יבוּyak.Ri.vuH7126thereשָׁ֖םshamH8033is uncleanטָמֵ֥אta.Me'H2931.

15But nowוְעַתָּה֙ve.'a.TahH6258, doconsiderשִֽׂימוּ־ לְבַבְכֶ֔םsi.mu- le.vav.KhemH7760 H3824from thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117onwardוָמָ֑עְלָהva.Ma.'e.lahH4605:beforeמִן־ מִטֶּ֧רֶםmin- mi.Te.remH4480 H2962onestoneאֶ֛בֶן'E.venH68was placedשֽׂוּם־sum-H7760on anotherאֶ֖בֶן'E.venH68in the templeבְּהֵיכַ֥לbe.hei.KhalH1964of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068,

16from that timeH1961whenone cameבָּא֙ba'H935to a grainH6194heapעֲרֵמַ֣ת'a.re.MatH6194of twentyעֶשְׂרִ֔ים'es.RimH6242measures, there would be onlytenעֲשָׂרָ֑ה'a.sa.RahH6235; and whenone cameבָּ֣אba'H935to the wineהַיֶּ֗קֶבhai.Ye.kevH3342vatH3342to drawלַחְשֹׂף֙lach.SofH2834fiftyחֲמִשִּׁ֣יםcha.mi.ShimH2572measuresפּוּרָ֔הpu.RahH6333, there would be onlytwentyעֶשְׂרִֽים׃'es.RimH6242.

17I struckהִכֵּ֨יתִיhi.Kei.tiH5221you andeveryכָּל־kol-H3605workמַעֲשֵׂ֣הma.'a.SehH4639of your handsיְדֵיכֶ֑םye.dei.KhemH3027withscorchingH7711windH7711,mildewוּבַיֵּֽרָקוֹן֙u.vai.ye.ra.kOnH3420,and hailוּבַבָּרָ֔דu.va.ba.RadH1259;yet you did not come back to Me,’ declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

18‘Doconsiderשִׂימוּ־ לְבַבְכֶ֔םsi.mu- le.vav.KhemH7760 H3824from thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117onwardוָמָ֑עְלָהva.Ma.'e.lahH4605, from thetwenty-fourthעֶשְׂרִ֨ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֜ה'es.Rim ve.'ar.ba.'AhH6242 H702dayמִיּוֹם֩mi.yOmH3117of the ninthלַתְּשִׁיעִ֗יla.te.shi.'IH8671month;from the dayהַיּ֛וֹםhai.YomH3117whenאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834the templeהֵֽיכַל־hei.khal-H1964of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068wasfoundedיֻסַּ֥דyu.SadH3245,considerשִׂ֥ימוּ לְבַבְכֶֽם׃Si.mu le.vav.KhemH7760 H3824:

20Then the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֤ה׀Yah.wehH3068cameוַיְהִ֨יvay.HiH1961a secondשֵׁנִית֙she.NitH8145timeH8145to Haggaiחַגַּ֔יcha.GaiH2292on thetwenty-fourthבְּעֶשְׂרִ֧ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֛הbe.'es.Rim ve.'ar.ba.'AhH6242 H702dayof the monthלַחֹ֖דֶשׁla.Cho.deshH2320,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,
